The current gas price for a gallon(3.7854 liters) of regular unleaded(87 oct.)
is $1.59
and for premium(93 oct.) it is $1.79. This is from my local Cheveron and Mobil
stations in the Washington area.

I'd like to find out the gas/petrol price in foreign countries,
such as Germany, UK, France, Japan, Australia, South Africa,
and Arab nations(Kuwait, UAE, Saudi Arabia).

Thanks!!!

Washington, as in "state" or "D.C"? Here in the foreign state of Texas, I
noticed premium for 1.30, but Shamrock is in a price war with someone. Most
of the stations are carrying premium for 1.49 to 1.59.

I'm not really compalining about gas prices,
since this country already has very low prices, compared to
European or Asian countries.

On the other hand, if Mercedes brings new CDI diesel cars(S or E-class)
to the U.S. again, I'd be one of the first to put down a deposit.

A litre of regular (87) costs CAD 0.65/litre, while premium (91) sells for CAD
0.75/litre. That equates to USD 1.66 and USD 1.92 per US gallon, respectively. I
live in Calgary, the oil and gas capital of Canada.

Must be nice. Here is sunny Southern California, cheapest I can find is
$1.77 for reg unlead (87 octane), $1.88 for medium (91 octane) and $1.99 for
premeium unlead (96 octane).

I did, through prudent acceleration, manage to squeak out 13 MPG in town
this last tank.

Over most of EU countries, it is about 1 euro per litre, Germany is slightly
cheaper than France, with Italy in between. Switzerland as the cheapest
petrol in Europe, at about 0.85 Euro per litre. Scandinavia and the UK are
most expensive - it's a while since I've been there but I would guess about
1.3 Euro per litre by now.

In South Africa we have a choice of only 2 grades of petrol (gas),
91oct. unleaded and 93oct. leaded.
91oct at US$1.78 per US gallon.
93oct at US$1.81 per US gallon.
I was told by a reliable source that we will have a price increase next week
of
US$0.15 per US gallon and a further price increase in another 4 weeks of
US$0.05 per US gallon.
These prices are for the Johannesburg area (inland and at altitude), at the
coast the octane and price structure is slightly different.

Here in Denmark the price is about 8.33 Dkkr/l for unleaded 92.
That is about (are you ready for it??):

4.15 USD/gallon !!!

not mentioning the 25% salestax and additional 180% cartax as well or
the rater steep 50+% income tax.

A Chrysler Neon is about 28k$ over here, and it's not because it's
an American import. Mercedes SLK with no options is abot 100k$.

Here in Baltimore it is $1.55 for diesel, $1.56 for regylar
unleaded. I do have to say that I am VERY impressed with the gas
mileage that my '91 300D gets...38MPG. The sad point is, it
takes me for ever to use a tank of gas since I only drive 3
miles per day.

Umm, no it's not, it's about £3.60 per Imperial Gallon, or $5.70 per
gallon which is something around $5.00 per US gallon.

(0.80p/litre x 4.54 = £3.62)

If you're paying $3.60 please let me know where! ;)

why doesn't someone tabulate this information? Fuel prices in Oz are
manipulated internally by the oil companies and the government, with each
one blaming the other. We have the capacity to produce all fuel oil
required for domestic use. (Not lubricating oil) yet we pay a 'world
parity' price which was an artificial price policy set up by the fraser
liberal government in the early '80s' Funnily enough no subsequent
government has upset this arrangement. Coincidentally of course they have a
huge tax revenue from it.

I suspect fuel prices the world over (with the possible exception fo the
US) are raped by governments to pay for the public cost of running
government, whilst very little of it is spent on roads to make them better
or (god forbid) safer.

Hmm , let me se.. a gallon is equal to 3,8 litres ? Then one litre
costs Nok (Norwegian Kroner) 10.10kr For 98 Leaded Fuel. One dollar
equals to 8.50 NOK so 3,8 litre x 10.10 = 38,38 Nok for one gallon
wich equals to 4,5 dollar per gallon... beat that!!!!!! Diesel is
About same price , lets say $4 pr gallon.

Do you Guys also pay 36% taxes , $235 pr year to the state so that
they can maintain your roads, about 60% of the price of the new car is
taxes (Eg : VW Golf , car cost $11.000 - tax $14.000), the roads here

Maybe you should use heating oil, that may be cheaper.
I believe that diesel engines run on diesel that one buys from gas stations,
but they also run on heating oil.
