I'm not really compalining about gas prices,
since this country already has very low prices, compared to
European or Asian countries.
On the other hand, if Mercedes brings new CDI diesel cars(S or E-class)
to the U.S. again, I'd be one of the first to put down a deposit.

| Think it is around 1.60 or 1.65 for Hi Test Unleaded (premium as they now
say)
| here in South Carolina. Or it might be higher or lower. That is for one
gallon,
| of course. Best as I can recall, the cost of a tankfull (about 26-28
gallons)
| is $40 to $45. Next time I am in a station I will check the exact price.

Over most of EU countries, it is about 1 euro per litre, Germany is slightly
cheaper than France, with Italy in between. Switzerland as the cheapest
petrol in Europe, at about 0.85 Euro per litre. Scandinavia and the UK are
most expensive - it's a while since I've been there but I would guess about
1.3 Euro per litre by now.

The same in Estonia

Here in Denmark the price is about 8.33 Dkkr/l for unleaded 92.
That is about (are you ready for it??):
4.15 USD/gallon !!!
not mentioning the 25% salestax and additional 180% cartax as well or
the rater steep 50+% income tax.
A Chrysler Neon is about 28k$ over here, and it's not because it's
an American import. Mercedes SLK with no options is abot 100k$.

Before you buy.
Umm, no it's not, it's about £3.60 per Imperial Gallon, or $5.70 per
gallon which is something around $5.00 per US gallon.
(0.80p/litre x 4.54 = £3.62)
If you're paying $3.60 please let me know where! ;)

$1.32/gal. for 87unleaded - eastern Ohio but saw $1.63 just 10 miles
away... still cheap, I agree (I get 34mpg in my car and 37 in wife's - but
neither are MBs :-( yet! )

1985 300D (diesel fuel price is about the same as regular unleaded gasoline)
I just had been on a trip to Munich. 6.0 l/100 km indicated the control,
that's 39.2 mpg, diesel of course ;-)
Anselm from Stuttgart (E 220 CDI, 143 hp)
Here in north-eastern Ohio, diesel is ~$1.50-1.65/g Unleaded 87oct is $1.30/g
I can't believe it so expensive. Isn't Diesel
fuel cheaper to produce than Gasoline. I don't
know why it costs so much more than gasoline.

I suspect fuel prices the world over (with the possible exception fo the
US) are raped by governments to pay for the public cost of running
government, whilst very little of it is spent on roads to make them better
or (god forbid) safer.

Hmm , let me se.. a gallon is equal to 3,8 litres ? Then one litre
costs Nok (Norwegian Kroner) 10.10kr For 98 Leaded Fuel. One dollar
equals to 8.50 NOK so 3,8 litre x 10.10 = 38,38 Nok for one gallon
wich equals to 4,5 dollar per gallon... beat that!!!!!! Diesel is
About same price , lets say $4 pr gallon.
Do you Guys also pay 36% taxes , $235 pr year to the state so that
they can maintain your roads, about 60% of the price of the new car is
taxes (Eg : VW Golf , car cost $11.000 - tax $14.000), the roads here
in norway is just one big hole , and it pisses me off like hell that
we are the second biggest (or something like that) oil "manufacurerer"
in the whole world, and we have the highest prices in the world....
When i grow old, i wanna move to sweden.... ;)
