This is day five with my lovely new car. I parked it Sunday night in
the lot at 6:45 and just went out now to drive out of town (Tuesday
9:00)-- no such luck. The interior light came on when I opened the
door, the glowplug, battery, and seatbelt lights came on with the
buzzer when I moved the key to pre-glow position, but when I moved to
the start position it just clicked under the hood and didn't even turn
the engine over-- I didn't even hear a touch of starter noise. I
guess a few things could be wrong: the battery is low enough in
charge to get the glowplugs to work but not the starter, the solenoid
could be broken, the starter could be broken, the key connection could
be bum, or the wiring could have been interrupted someplace, etc. I
think I recall reading someplace that if your coolant monovalve sticks
for the climate control, it can continue to draw amps after the key is
in the off position. My climate control only blows hot air so it's
possible that it's broken. My voltmeter is in the trunk which is the
second problem, the trunk latch only unlatches sometimes, and this
wasn't one of those times. HELP! eha...@umich.edu
