The local Greenville "Daily Wipe and Bird Cage Liner" car section today had a
review of the new E420 and E55 in it. The review was from the Boston Globe. The
reviewer thought the cars were really big and nice. (The author must be really
small in view of the fact that the E is smaller than the S which now is only
fit for very short people or at least people with short legs due to its short
seat.) Article said they were quite quiet luxurious and well appointed cars.
But they have no road feel and they are not fun to drive. They feel like big
wallowing sedans going into a curve. The other cars like Audi, BMW, and even
Lincoln do a much better job. The author was wondering why MB couldn't do
better than that.Maybe ole Jerkin Shrimp should read things like that. Of
course he wouldn't need to do it himself, he could have on of his legion of
readers do that. Since Bob from Chrysler has been gobbled and is due to retire,
I understand that some more cash has become available and is to be used for
some readers for the remaining administrators.

Good outlook on the Globe. Those "car guys" are morons.

Totally with you on that one.

Uh. Yeah. Whatever pal. The New E has the over-dampening rack-and-pinion
set-up that mimicks the good-old Recirc.-Ball that every other Mercedes
known to man has (save the 190, and a select few others).

As for BMW handling better - Duh. Kinda hope so. They don't do much else
worth talking about.

Yeah. Well, I would not read the Boston Globe either. I have a thing
with literature written so that a 6th grader can read it....

Joining McBrue, under his bridge, bitching over the sad state of affairs
with MB.

MCBRUE,

My brother has an S420 and I drive the 2000 E. No contest in terms of fun.
The E wins hands down. I've got about 2k on it now and the car keeps
impressing me more every day. It's no Chrysler. The S is a throwback to my
95 E320 which was more Teutonic (which now I take to mean 'unnecessarily
harsh'). By the way, any sedan can only be fun to a point. If you want
real fun, buy a Porsche.
