Had the pest on the house today it took 2 1/2 hours...all ok, none in the
house but some active in the fencing that will need treating( luckily my
best friends are in the business) but the shower leaks and the wall behind
it is extreemly wet meaning gone is my dishwasher for the moment. Still for
the price he tells me it's a bargain and I doubt we will haggle the price
down unless the building report is bad, you have to expect showers to leak
at some stage in an older house. DH wants to go the whole hog and do the
entire bathroom ( I don't know how he thinks we can afford it) but I'm in
favour of just fixing the shower and moving on to important things like
dishwasher, painting, lighting and floor coverings then coming back to the
bathroom last that list ought to take several years. Anyway building
inspection is wednesday...fingers crossed.

we get termites in our shared fence with our neighbour. he pours some diesel
fuel on them & they die straight away (he is an oyster farmer & knows lots
of handy tricks). very cheap & very effective. wouldn't do it on my house
woodwork though.

It is a requirement that an owner builder who sells the property within six years of completing the works obtains home warranty insurance. For an owner builder to obtain home warranty insurance the insurer requires the owner builder to have the works inspected. The inspection is separate to those carried out by the Principal Certifying Authority (P.C.A) regardless of whether that is council or a private certifier. - Pink Slip Building Reports
