I am creating a goody bag and plan to wrap things up individually. So far I
have two Kelly dolls, a coloring book with pencils, various snacks and
drinks and a new module for her leap pad. I'll probably also wrap some books
from the library and maybe a CD.
What else would you put aside for her to play with in the car?

Nothing. You have it covered.
Is P usually restless in the car?

-Those that mind dont matter.
The ones that matter dont mind.
She has her moments - active child that she is! lol
We don't usaully do a great deal of long driving - mostly sub 1/2 an hour. I
just want to have stuff on hand. DH HATES having to stop when he's doing an
interstater. It can drive me crazy as I like to stop or my neck goes out. At
least I can use P having an accident as leverage now ;-)

My kids have been extremely bad travellers so until the age of about 4 (at
least!), we dont go far away. Just as Patrick was starting to be able to
travel some distance, Angus came along and was just as bad. Anything
further than 2.5 hours in a day - we just dont do it. One day I would like
to be able to have a holiday somewhere different to the closest point on the
coast to us but it will be a year away at the very least. Sorry, I have no
advice. Nothing we have tried has worked.
However, going on the things you have already listed, how about one of those
things you draw with and then wipe out the drawing - Etch a Sketch, Magnetic
Drawing. I'm not explaining it well but do you know what I mean?
cheers

Also, I never knew Emily got carsick reading as the most we had driven was 2
hours to my Mum's.. So, maybe some carsick medicine just in case or just watch
to see if she gets a bit queasy looking after a while.. We bought it over the
counter at the chemist for about $15..
Have a great trip!!

I have one of these. I'll make sure it's packed. Good idea.

We regularly do a 3.5 hour trip to the farm.
For us, a few toys (2 so that they can talk to each other), a drink of water
and the most important thing ... a tape (or CD) of their favourite songs.
I don't let DD eat while we are driving, so I make sure she eats a good
brekky before we head out.
We sometimes come back in the evenings and will break the trip at a
particular servo for dinner - there's a Maccas there and they have a
wonderful playground so DD gets to have a run around for half an hour or so
after some dinner. Its at a BP servo and there are also really good change
facilities and a variety of places from which to purchase a meal.
DS is a great traveller - I haven't had to stop and feed him by the side of
the road *yet*. ... when we used to travel to the farm or to other rellies
when DD was small I was always going to write a book called "Shady trees of
SEQ".
Good luck
