Depends which god you believe in. I heard one reckons Pin 3 hot, and the
are others, even in some states in the USA , which even say you can have
MULTIPLE hot pins. Tabelan reckon that too ....

The EIA and AES have had pin 2 designated as hot for years and most if not all manufactures have been compliant for nearly 2 decades. Of course, there is still plenty of older gear out there that's still pin 3 hot. But you'd be hard pressed to find anything new out there that wasn't pin 2 hot.
