I am thinking about setting up a newsgroup for the UK for the live sound
industry. Although this one is good, it can be problematic, as alot of the
posts are from the USA, and to do with things from the states. BTW, I am not
saying this newsgroup is no good (before I get flamed), just that the UK
needs one as well.

Cheers,

Why not just put "UK" in the subject line. How are we supposed to
learn anything about you guys if you run off and hide? Even though we
use different supply voltages, and eat different food at the load-out,
most everything else we discuss is applicable globally. A lot of the
equipment we use in North America is built in the UK, Japan, Germany,
etc, so it's truly an international occupation.

The bottom line is "if it sucks in Omaha, it's probably still going to
suck in Blackpool"

I realise this, but things like legislation vary, and also if people are
selling gear, it helps if they are in the UK. This is not intended to stop
people looking at this group, just to have one with a UK slant to it. I
personally will still look at both.

Sorry to cause offence.

Personally I doubt there are enough UK engineers with internet access to make
it worthwhile. We certainly need to spread the word about this board as even
with the numbers in the US where net access is common there are still very few
people posting here.

I live in the US. If you start a UK group let us know about it here
so I can read that one too.

I don't know about Omaha, but Blackpool sucks anyway.
