Not only costs more than a laptop, but has no CD drive.
However, it is handy if one has wireless Lighting or Sound consoles.
But an iPhone might provide the same benefits.

My guess is that it had some fault that was "uneconomical to repair".

Some fault that was uneconomical to repair? Like maybe a thousand
degrees Fahrenheit? Put your hand in those lasers or the sunlight lens,
and see if you have some fault that is uneconomical to repair.
