Howdy guys!

Putting together a small restaurant system and was gifted 5 unused jbl
control 25 speakers. What amp would you suggest to power these bad
boys?

What can you do with 5 little speakers other then hook them up as a 70 volt
system ?

Use 4 keep one as a spare and use just about any home stereo. Hook 2 per
channal.

Any trash amp will power those pieces of junk.

Bad boys? ROTFL.

Phil's inquiry as to whether they are regular or "T" is important. That
would affect the final wiring.

Serious, they are cheap Chinese stuff.

** Yep.

A " Dolby Pro-Logic " 5 channel amp ( Sony, Pioneer etc) would be fine for
25s ( not 25Ts )

And you CAN get one of them in the sidewalk trash !!!

those

not being the 25T(transformer model you can only use 4 of them for low level
background music, any amp over 30 watts will be fine
for high level foreground music sell them and buy a foreground type speaker

I have used lots of the jbl contractor series spakers and they are easy to
use, look nice and sound fine for thier designed application
which is background low level music and paging

What sort of 'home use' ? Not suitable for a main stereo, but OK for
piping music to, say, and outdoor pool or BBQ area etc.

It is a commercial speaker for 70v/100v line connection, and isn't that
great a speaker anyway, with limited bass and treble response if you are
thinking of serious \music listening.

The sort of amp you would need would need two 70v/100v Line outputs ,
and they typically aren't 'hi-fi'.

Great for cafes and shopping malls, shops, restaurtants, pools, etc.
