<< I was just wondering if any of you lovely lot have any comments on the
studiomaster trilogy 166 mixing desk >>
Studiomaster Trilogy mixers were very nice economy mixers.
<< and where would be the place to get
hold of one. Let me know. >>
I have a used TR206 here -- 16 channel version. Make me an offer.

<< Hmmm.... how used is used? What's the condition like? >>
I installed it in a church (the proverbial "only used on Sunday", etc.) where
it functioned happily from @July of 1999 until February 1st, 2003 when I traded
it in on a new Allen & Heath GL2200-32 channel board -- they expanded their
program and relocated from their old church building to a new facility 3 miles
away. As part of a permanent install, it was not a road warrior item. It has
been in storage since then, although I think I probably used it for some of my
Bose rep demo work maybe 4 or 5 times.
I have had it checked out by a service shop that was Studiomaster authorized
(prior to their demise), had them replace 1 fader that has a little tentative,
and checked it out for me. As far as I know (other than being a little dusty)
it is in very good condition both electronically and cosmetically. There is
one little quirk that I noticed during one time out that had the pre-Send #1
signal bleeding some signal through onto the Send #2 output (or possibly vice
versa), but it may have also been something that the end user (in this case a
loan to another church for a weekend) had inadvertently done with the bleed
actually occuring via some other electronic tie in at a different point in the
signal chain. Since I wasn't there when it happened, I am only guessing. If
you're interested, I'll verify this. With a total of 6 sends available,
perhaps this won't be a problem to you either way. If you need all 6 instead
of just 5, it can always be repaired if it's a "for real" quirk -- and the shop
here would probably charge me $60 to take care of it.

<< Thanks Dave. Are you in the UK or elsewhere? >>
Pennsylvania -- USA. Probably too expensive to ship to you in the UK, not that
I wouldn't be willing to do it, but for a used item it might make the cost a
bit too high for you, all things considered. Sorry about that -- I didn't
notice the UK headers from your post before -- just the hotmail.com address.
