Great gig in Auckland (NZ) last week.

But a few songs, especially near the start, possibly sufferred from too many
instruments playing at time - or the mixing had too many up too far.

Bass was ok. Well the bass 3 solos. But other than that Bakithi Kumalo could
have
been playing anything - notes indistuingishable - just a boom boom boom ;-(

Might have been the venue, but I was right next to the mixing desk and the
Clair Bros dude didn't seem at all concerned .....

Apparently it is an 'attribute' of the venue, and the engineer knew that
there was nothing do-able about it...

I saw Paul Simon a few years ago. I was given the ticket because my band mate's girlfriend woke up on the wrong side of the bed and decided she didn't want to go. I have always been a fan but I must admit he was very boring as an entertainer. Never said a word to the audience and worse hardly played any hits and not a singe one all the way through. He did a medley of maybe 3 S&G tunes and another about the same of his solo stuff but 95% of the show was music nobody ever heard before and everyone was looking at each other like WTF? To make it worse the sound man must have thought it was a Slayer concert or some shit and had the bass guitar and bass drum so loud it felt like your chest was being kicked in, for Paul Simon? give me a break. All in all I would have been really pissed if I had paid for the ticket.
