Hello all,

I did a gig in Mass. recently, and what really caught my attention were the
loudspeakers used. The subs were 2 Meyer USW-1's and the high end was
handeled by 4 RCF ART series. The RCF's are where my question lies. Anyone
know where I can get some literature on them? I've searched for a web site
and all I could find is one site thats under construction. I'd like to find
out what else they make and if there are any dealers near the RI, Mass area.
Thanks!

RCF used to make only driver and chassis. Couple of years ago they
started selling boxes too. Then Mackie bought them. Now at least one
of their designs is sold under the Mackie label (Fussion). The
question is if RCF will continue to sell boxes under their label, or
go back to components, and leave the boxes to Mackie.

Hi,

Sorry i have no clue about dealers near you.
RFC has as far as i know the Event Series (1000, 3000, 4000, 6000),
and the Subs ESW 1015 and the 1018. The Art Series active and passive,
and then the PFR Series, which means Performer Series. As the name
suggests focused to musicians. Surprisingly good sounding though. And
the 153 pretty loud too.
You can read all about the Event and Art sreies at

http://whiskey-creek.net/rcfeintro.html

there are all infos needed.
there is also a site with T/S parameters for their drivers. but i have
the adress at the office. can send it tomorrow if needed...

. Mike the Art 300a's are available from the RCF Industrial division
BTW the Mackie 450 is really the same box dressed up you should know that
if you go with 300a's that you can not chain a passive box off a active box
you need all active boxes

Mike,
It's nice to hear from someone from RI. Currently, I work as a sound
engineer for ATR-Treehouse. Check out the link below and I'll check to see if we
are a dealer for RCF. BTW: How are Jacque, Jen and family? I worked a few shows
with Jacque when I was with Matrix Audio about 12 years ago. Tell him I said
hello. Take care.

RCF has made boxes for as long as I can remember (which is slightly over 1
day ;-)

I remember seeing the Espace series some 15 years ago (though at that time
they were named differently AFAIR). Being that it's an Italian company, it
might however be that these products didn't end up in the US of A.

One of the more impressive RCF range is the Process Controll range.
(CP512/CP515/MP1600(yummie)/LP1000(ugly)/Sub2030). Anyone have any
experience with this range?

Current RCF ranges:

- ART range: Powered/Unpowered range consisting of 12"/1", 15"/2" systems
and subs in plastic cabinets. I'm looking at buying a few ART-300's for
monitor at the moment.
- Event series: Not all that bad, nothing earth shaking either. The Event
6000 looks like an impressive cabinet (and doesn't IMO fully fit into the
Event range).
- Monitor series: Small(ish) speakers for studio monitor use. Probably not
very interesting for us (maybe the MR8 might be useable for very nearfield
small scale monitoring).
- Performer series: Wood and plastic. Positive things..... uhmmmm.
- Espace series: Older range.
- Process Control series: Look NICE. Have to get more info on them.

If you need info on the ART range, let me know. I can scan and send it to
you. According to the info I have you can (could) also find it on
http://www.web.tin.it/rcf though it might be that they've moved to a "real"
web-adress).

My first front end (not homemade) was 4 rcf event 6000and 4 rcf 1018 subs--
I loved these boxes for their intended use and still love the 1018 sub
I also have the 3000m monitors that kick some MI grade ass
Over all I really liked the MI grade event series and would recommend it
over 4732's or LA 325's

RCF speakers are no longer available in the U.S., as far as I know. Their U.S.
phone number was disconnected the last time I tried. I've been searching for
the ART 600AS powered subwoofer for over a year now.

Mackie bought them out, and replaced the ART series with their own SRM450 and
1500 subwoofer. However, if you go to Mackie Industrial's Web site
(http://www.mackieindustrial.com), you'll find the ART series listed under
permanent installations. It's my understanding that they're virtually the same
as the old RCF ART speakers. Unfortunately, the subwoofer isn't listed, so I'm
still searching. :)

Didn't know that. Saw the first box made by them here in Luxembourg
maybe 2 or 3 years ago. Before that, I had only ever heard about their
chassis...
