Post-show report:
Had a great time. The first demo I saw was the new QSC ISIS powered
speakers. They sounded really good, especially the mini line array
version. This was the first time I had seen cobranet (sp?) in use.
They were showing a screen that displayed info from the amps and who
knows what else.
Sat in a Shure wireless seminar for about 45 minutes hearing about how
rf works and how DTV is affecting the available bandwidth.
Renkus-Heinz had one pair of cabinets there and a small demo. Like
every other demo I heard today, they sounded very good.
The last demo was by JBL, featuring the Vertec Line Array systems.
Sounded very nice. The owner of the place that put on the trade show
talked about using that rig recently on the "Down from the mountain"
tour. They were using a Midas Venice 320 at this demo. (They had the
Venice 320 on sale today for $3288. Is that a good deal for that
console?)
I won a door prize!!!! They gave out over 80 prizes. I got a lighting
controller. We've been needing to upgrade our little lighting setup
anyway.
Saw a bunch of familiar faces that I hadn't seen in a while. All in
all a good time. I'll be looking forward to next year. This is as
close to AES as I'll probably get. :-)

Thanks for the report and congatulations on the prize
That reminds me, I went to the Harmon Road Show and was going to write
up a little report...... And yes, the Vertecs, especially the new 'babies'
sound real good.

Correct... IIRC, it was a 16 box VT4889 system.
