Hi,
Is there a way to determine a "right-sized" amp for our PA speakers? I
understand an overpowered amp can blow the speakers....but also that an
underpowered speaker can get do alot of damage also. How do you figure out a
way to get a powerful enough amp, without simply getting something way too big?
Thanks.

Generally 2x the RMS long term power rating. AND, never drive you amp or speakers to clipping. If it starts sound harsh or the
speakers start producing a farting sound, your overdriving the system and damage IS happening.
An under sized amp will do more damage than an over powered one since you won't drive it as hard as the undersized one. Clipping
does some serious damage.
