Hi guys

How does the 3 to 1 rule apply when you have a series of mics set at low level
across the front apron of a stage. what is the optimum distance apart and
placement for given stage dimensions? any particular favourite type of mic? how
do you guys do it?

This for a theatre type gig? Boundary layer mics across the front of the
stage, and a lot of PFLing to see which one of them gives you the most
usable signal. And fade from one mic to the next, following the actors
movement on stage.

Either that or buy a Shure intellimixer which does all that automatically
for you leaving you free to concentrate on other things.

I was thinking more a "chorus line" type scenario, rather than a single sound
source. how does the 3 to 1 rule apply to boundary mics?
