I just got this player at Wal-Mart for about $100. I could not
believe Wal-Mart would have this and Circuit City nor Best Buy had a
single discman with a digital output. I went for the discman because
that's something I can get some use out of away from home. I don't
need ANOTHER home CD player just to get a toslink output..

Anyone know where I can find info on the Sony D-E561 Discman? This
model is not anywhere on the web, not even Sony's site. They list
several other models.

I am mainly wanting to know if I made a good choice. The little I
have used it to feed my JE 520 MD recorder seems to have worked fine.
There seem to be a bunch of model numbers for basically the same
thing.

thanks,
Tim

ps. I know this is not a CD newsgroup but I got the player mainly to
feed my MD recorder a digital signal.

There is a link for the D-E551. It's:

Probably the only diff tween yours and this is something trivial in
the specs. Don't lose any sleep over it though.
