Dear friends,

I want to make a low cost figure-8 microphone. I want to use the Fig-8 mic in combination with a shotgun-microphone in the field in order to make MS recordings and ad the amount of ambience in post production.

The idea is to make use of two electret capsules (like the WM-55A modified) and use an internal 3-9 volt battery as powersupply.

I am a new-by. Is there anybody who cann give me some good advice?
Is it enough to place the cardoid capsules back-to-back? Or is it better to place the capsule above each other. Cann I switch them simply parallel? Does anybody have idea's for a good circuit and/or a way of putting them in a (pipe/) case?

I found some circuits. But... Non of them fit exactly to my requirements. Some are complete MS mic including pre-amps, some use 2*9-18 volt (is this necesarry?). And I cannot find much info about the placing of the capsules in the case/pipe, acoustic isolation, etc.. Neither about physical or mechanical tips.

Regards

Peter
