I would like to the test noise canceling properties of electret microphones
without having to use an anechoic room or chamber. Someone told me that by
taking near field measurements of the microphone at 0 degrees (face of
microphone facing noise source) and at 90 degrees is an acceptable way of
measuring the NC. The 90 degrees measurement is actually measuring the null
of the microphone. Can anyone explain why this method of measurement is
acceptable to obtain noise canceling figures?
