I am the lucky owner of a NAD 5420 CD player. Unfortunately the display went
completely blank although all the functions are still working correctly.
Did you encounter similar problems with this audio device?
Can you give me pointers on how to solve this problem myself?
Can I get my hands on the design of this device and the layout diagram of
the printed circuit board?

It's a pain but if you think of anything to go wrong, this one is at
least,harmless.
I wouldn't fiddle to much with it and think about replacing it in a
while.

How do their Pre_amps rate ? Specifically the pro monitor series and
amp circa 1989 ?
The A/B switch on the amp is a little forgetful of whether it's on or
not :)
B switch is fine ( thank god )other than that both pieces work great.
Any Pre-amp suggestions in $1000 range would be appreciated . (G)

You were right. It took the Dutch NAD dealer less than 1 second to come-up
with the same solution that you described. It appears to be a "known bug".
Thanks for your help,

"It's not a bug, it's a feature!"
