400EX Jetting VS 3 different configurations

Witch jetting (main and the other one) I should use... Honda 400 ex 2001
with K&N filter and pre-charger and Yoshimura pipe... answer please If I
add a 39 mm carburator? another answer... And with a big bore kit (440)?
Last answer... Thanks gang! I plan to add those tree parts shortly but
not at the same time, that's why I ask for tree different configurations.

P.S. 250R_rider, I'm waiting for you pic's on a web site... I'm making a
pretty good web site and I will put mine there. Maybe in 2-3 weeks.

Yoshi pipe? Cool... how's that sound? Hopefully not as pingy as my F4 does
with a yoshi... annoying as help.... but anyway...

Is the yoshi setup you have the full pipe? oversized header? if so, that's a
good thing...if not, not a bad thing, just not a good thing...

the 440 big bore is a nice setup, but expensive and quite intense installing
it. But you really can't avoid it if you want more "power". a 39mm carb is
pretty big for a 400ex... isn't it? If you do the big bore, you will need a
bigger carb, how big? Not sure there, ask Gabe. I think the stock carb is
only a 34mm, so jumping from 34 to 39 might be too much unless you do motor
work, p-n-p, pipe and jet, and maybe more... I'll give it some thought and
ask a friend....

As for Jetting sizes, I'm not a 4stroke guy, I'm not sure... I would ask
Gabe, he's the 400ex man....I can look into it, which I will, but until
then, search google for gabe in alt.atv, maybe he'll know quickly....

Website? what's the address.... I'll have my pics tonite.. was too tired
last night to fool with it... I'm doing a 350X conversion in a 250X frame...

Got home last night to a seized motor... don't know why, but this motor
(that's been sitting for 1 year now) has seized, so I'm going to become a
350X mechanic in the next few weeks... Can you say 425cc big bore??? That'll
be a true 400ex's nightmare...

send me a pic.. always interested in what other peoples quads look like....

hi i have 2 400ex's.....the first was sent to white bros to get worked
over and it runs mean now!......but my 2nd i have a twin air, spark
arrestor out and i dont know what to put the jet size 2.....i have a 152
and the stock is a 148......it still is running 2 lean!

I have a 2000 400ex and i have the fmf exhaust
header and slip on also running the rev kit, k&n filter
drilled air box lid. I usually ride from sea level to about
3000 feet and i did not change the small jet, but i went
to a 170 on the main and it ran a little fat. but now i use
the 165 and use the fourth ring down on the needle. this
is the best combo for my quad, at least this will give u
a starting point.
