I have a hard plastic rear passenger seat box on my new 450ES ATV.
Somehow I'd like to find a way to hold an extra gas tank back there, but I
don't want a permanent extension because then it wouldn't fit into my truck
properly. I also don't want to drill holes into my black plastic rear box.
I have been thinking of using some of those black rubber tie downs (similar
to bungee cords) to hold a gas tank. I can just squeeze these btw the
blackbox and the rack thus they are removable. Do you think they would
properly hold a gas tank if I used 2 of the correct size; one horizontal and
one vertical???? Any suggestions would be helpful.

Check out Cabela's Master Catalog (maybe online?), they have flat fuel and
water tanks that attach to the back rack!

I think I would be hesitant to attach a gas can with bungee cords... Anyway,
if you do go ahead and do it and we ever ride together you can follow me !!!!
seriously, good luck and check out the Cabela's catalog, they have a great
variety of accessories and the prices are reasonable and the shipping is very
fair.

And, I don't work for Cabela's, but I have had good luck buying from them.

They make those flat red 3 gallon gas tanks that strap right on to your
racks, available through Cabela's, and can withstand 800 LBS. of weight
loaded on each one, you could stack them too. They run about $80.00
each.
