Have a 2000 Grizzly with a rounded lug nut,my buddy didn't think they were
metric before using a 9/16 on an impact wrench, now it's round. Any bright
ideas anyone?

vise grips.or either get a grinder and grind it back to shape!

You could weld a bar onto it.....and turn it off.

you could also try taking a six point socket size that fits tight onto the
rounded off lug nut and then hammer it on with a punch and hammer. then hit it
with an impact gun again. have done this in the past with bikes and cars.
works wonders for getting wheel locks off.

Have never tried this, but just an idea that popped up in my head....If you
have room to do it, try using on of those nut splitting tools...

The fact that the lug nuts are probably recessed makes it tough to get at
with a vice-grips, but what about a stud remover tool. It's about a foot
long, with a T-handle on one end. The other end has a grip similar to that
of a pipe-wrench that only grips with turned in one direction, not the
other.

That would certainly work if you were a good welder...I guess there might be
a small risk of overheating the stud....if the nut splitter would fit in
there, that would be the easiest..

I bought a bike with a rounded off lug nut. I took it to my local tire shop
(they're great and never charge for little things like this). The mechanic
hammered on a very snug 12-point socket (had to hunt a little for the right
size) and carefully used a breaker bar to back off the nut. The 12-point
bites into the lug nut better (or so he told me). They do it all the time!

Get a set of Metrench tools. The weard looking one with different socket and
wrench Insides. I crawed under my 4 1/2 ton taxi to try and remove the
starter. This being a ford says It all. Even with the right wrench. Yep..
slicker than shit out of a goose, strrrrriiiipped real qwick ;-).... Reached
for one of my new tool and presto, came right off. Best Dam wrench and
socket set I ever bought. Costco had them for around $100..

If all fails, try a new and sharp air chisle. Do let your "buddy" do It...

Best;

Good call. I have a set of these too. They work on the flat part
of the nut so it doesn't matter if the nut is stripped or not.

Get yourself an impact wrench, put a socket on it that's just a touch
smaller than the stripped lug, set the wrench to "loosen"(obviously), place
over the stripped lug firmly, commence to beating the hell out of the lug.
Within a few shots it should spin right off. I have done this a few times
and after swelling my hand to twice its' size, the nut did come off. Oh
yeah, be sure to use a socket you really don't care about- I'm sure you have
a nice set of Taiwannies that you would be more than glad to beat the piss
out of.

hello, u might try heating it a little with a welder torch, then put a pair of
vice grips on it very securely, then put a steel pipe over the vice grips and
apply steady medium pressure in the loosening direction unitl it loosens. note:
u may have to heat it more than once. try not to obtain heat damage to the
wheel or tire( place something that won't burn easily around the nut) be
careful. if u still have the original 9/16 socket that did the damage try that
first if it fits snug. still use the pipe over the ratchet. good luck.
