Mod the carb, add a good pipe, and rejet/aircleaner...you might get to 50. I
have one I built for my daughter does about that...

Be sure you add the heavier clutch/belt springs however...those simple modes
will burn up the stock in no time...

Funniest part about this, my old 1985 Trail Boss 250, being geared
differantly, has a top speed of over 55mph.... Find yourself a nice
Cyclone.. and you'd be good to go :)

In 1985, all Polaris 250's also came stock with a 38mm carb. They now come with
a 30mm carb.

My friend has a sportsman 500 with a speedometer. I got it up to 53
mph. Of course it took me over a half mile to get it there. Then
once it was there i had to let off cause the handling was so damn
shitty. I can tell you it wont pull a greasy string out of a cats ass
though! What a mistake that was buying that damn thing. Oh Well,
First bike! We all make a mistake every now and again..

Ok, for starters, everyone knows the Sportsman 500 can go faster than 53mph.
The 500 tops out at around 65-ish (??not exactly sure??) It doesn't take
even close to half mile to get there. You must be speaking of the Sportsman
335, then those figures are beleiveable. and for handling, well lets
remember this is a utility quad, and i think the handling is pretty good
myself. The 500 is also a great puller, tho there are never any pulls around
here, thats what i've heard

My mistake!! I meant to say he was clocking me on my trailblazer. I
was not talking about the sportsman he was riding. After i read it
today waiting for reply's i can see where it sounded like i was
talking about the sportsman. Sorry abou that...

The sportsman wont do 65........I have a scrambler 400 and it only does about
66-67......so maybe the sports man will do 59 or so.....
