A Banshee,all the way,,Put a set of pipes on it and nothing compares to
it,I would bet a $1000 on it ,,
in my area there is all differ sport bikes with and without mods ,the
banshee blows the fenders off of them,

If you're talking about current production machines then I would have to go
with the banshee within a certain distance but some of the big bore fours
will pass it in the longer run. If you're talking about any sport quad then
the 500 Suzuki Quadracer would be the next logical choice for the more
popular factory machines although I did hear a long time ago that Honda
offered an ATC 600R but that could've been an aftermarket gig...it's a trike
anyway which if you can find a good one(ATC 250R) and keep the front end
down you could romp most anything available today. Those mid-80's trikes
were very quick to say the least.

Straight line with stock machines is the Raptor beats the Banshee and DS650,
but the Icon thinks that the DS650 Baja version would probably beat the
Raptor.

250R will fall a step behind once in the higher gears.

They are all really close. The Icon has never seen a Polaris Predator, but
has seen the others race quite a few times.

You are right that the Banshee will beat pretty much everything once getting
into mods, but stock vs. stock it's just a hair behind the Raptor and DS650.

Don't forget the Quadracer 500 either..... of course they haven't made that
one in years....

Sounds like he was talking about STOCK vs. STOCK.

Just because somebody says that a Banshee is not the fastest ATV in the
world doesn't mean you need to get all worked up about it. Everyone knows
that you love your Banshee to death and all that good stuff, but it's NOT
the fastest. Pretty simple.

We could get into mod's, but the Icon didn't talk about mod's because the
guy's original question was STOCK vs. STOCK. The Icon answered that
question.

It's very fast, but the the pipes add so much more bang for the buck. The
only concern would be noise.

I've seen a piped, K&N, jetted Banshee go head to head with a stock
Raptor up to 5th gear

If the Banshee would have gotten into 6th gear and went WOT, the
raptor would have been toast.

Stock Vs. Stock, the Raptor would definitely win.

Yea, the Icon has heard quite a few.

It depends on what pipe, but they are quite a bit louder.

Noise is a big factor around here (especially during night rides), because
it's hard enough to find places to ride. We don't need people
complaining.....

You can still compare them. The guy just asked which one was faster and he
wanted to know stock, not modified.

You can compare ANYTHING, they don't have to be the same engine size.

Fact is that the Banshee isn't the fastest stock. It's fast, but not the
fastest.

that money can buy, and it NEVER has been.

You guys seem obsessed with reminding everyone that Banshee's are fast,
telling people that they should buy one all the time, and doing whatever it
takes to get people to agree with you that the Banshee is the lord and
master of ATV's.....

It's just a 4 wheeler..... take the worship down a notch!

And there is no way in hell (in my biased, un-paid for opinion) that the
banshee is that far behind the kfx, z, and raptor.

These test runs were done in the desert, and all I can come up with is that
the test riders paid no attention to wheel spin in the loose sand.....the
banshee stock tires just suck. That, or maybe they had a sore thumg and
couldnt push the throttle all the way in???????

I think some kind of real quad costing way less might equal or beat it
0-60 ( weight is critical here) but not to 300+mph -airdrag and power
only things that matter. I'll bet that thing would be crazy hard to
turn or drive in public -- cool thought, but who the hell gets paid to
design something that is such a waist of time!

Fastest modern "stock" 4 wheeler by far is the cannondale, it will eat any
stock quad off the line and on the trails. I have not came across a
Preditor yet, but every thing else has ate my roost

Fastest top end "stock" modern quad would be the DS with the raptor coming
in second. Both of these machines have left me in the dust once my
revlimiter kicked in

Fastest modern production quad with a few inexpensive mods would be the
Shee.

Might be true, but the Icon doesn't have a Banshee.... went riding a
neighbors Polaris XLT 600 yesterday. Nice machine.... the Icon loves the
smell of two stroke oil!!

Supposedly it tops out at 105 mph (motor is slightly mod'ed and piped), but
that's with a little 125 pound guy on it. With the Icon on it the best it
could do was an indicated 99 mph.....

It's no Banshee though.... haha!

Trouble is it's really a duner..... that nice looking plastic is going to
get ruined riding in the woods. Change the tires over and it would haul ass
though!!
