I've been using Maxima Super M, no complaints. I try to run synthetics
in everything, from engine oils, gear oils, bearing greases, you name
it.

I usually mix about 34:1, sometimes richen it up to 32:1 on hot trips.
I've run that mix with both 92 octane pump + Trick additive, and with
straight VP red (currently running that now).

But nothing beats the smell of true bean oil..... :^)

Synthetic is great!

Ahh, the sweet smell of bean oil, just makes you want to go riding, doesn't
it?

Yeehaw! Desert season is upon us folks!!! ;-)

I have run Bel-Ray full synthetic at 50:1 ratio for over 3 years and
only this year did i finally have to put a set of rings in it. This
stuff is AWESOME. The cylinders were completly with in factory specs
and so were the pistons. I HIGHLY recomend you try it.

Do it in the dirt!!

What about Red Line, it is said to be the best oil, and Yamaha said this in
one of their seminars, they said it was better than their Yamalube

3 years seems kind of soon for new rings maybe you should use a higher ratio of oil
to gas, like 31:1.

Depending on what kind of use and it is a 2-stroke, Don, don't forget! I go
through a set of rings once a season easy on my CR500, primarily dune
riding, and a piston every couple of seasons if I'm lucky! Most important
thing is to have a good filtering system, if not, it really takes a toll on
the rings...
