I am new to this group, and fairly new in the southern burbs of Atlanta.
I hope someone can assist with a little info.
I am looking for some good scrap or salvage yards that will sell small
qualities to individuals.
I've tried Newell Recycling but they won't sell to either small companies or
individuals.
I'm looking for aluminum, brass, stainless, CRS and used/salvaged machine
parts.

Thank you in advance for any assistance :-)

Don't know if they help artists, but you should GO to the yards.
Marietta Blvd near 10th and 14th, somebody there is an artist.
There is another, brand new, near the old Westinghouse factory near West
End.
There is an auto junkyard Backhead at 285
There are landfills at Moreland and 285
Watch the movie Iron Giant
If you email me I will have the address of the Westinghouse site.
Have you thought of asking auto repair shops

Don't ask me for the names, I can't remember :) You can most likely find
them in the phone book though.

When I took Metal Sculpture classes I went to one in Norcross & another
in Chamblee. Both sold in small quantities at reasonable prices to
individuals & had a great selection of found objects. Steel Mart (also
in Norcross) is good too, though I doubt you'll find any brass there. I
can't help you with anything on the south side of town, try picking up a
phone book & calling around. Georgia State has a pretty nice metal
sculpture department, they could probably give you some info if you
can't find anything. Good luck :)
