and the surrounding areas ignore constant
warnings to turn on their headlights
during rainy periods because of
poor visibility.

Drivers are also warned to slow down near
construction sites because many workers are
killed by a$$holes who insist on speeding.

Those same buttheads ignore warnings to slow
down on slick roads, as many accidents result
from carelessness when it rains or the roads
freeze or it snows.

Those same peabrains want to drive twenty to
thirty MPH above the posted speed limit and
pose a hazard to everyone. They are so stupid
they risk paying up to $1,200 in fines where
signs clearly point out that fines are doubled
in high risk areas.

It's a shame criminal charges cannot be brought
against stupid jerks like the above.

I think the left lane should have explosive charges that would go off if
some drivers over them at a speed greater then 70. That would have an
almost immediate effect of getting drivers to slow down.

The day will come when cars will be equipped with devices that will
detect the speed limit of the road/highway and automatically limit the
vehicle to no more then 5mph above the speed limit. Anyone caught
disabling the device would be considered a felon and the three strikes
rule would apply.

Your goal is on point but as usual, you look to the government to solve
problems -- rather than the people themselves.

The correct solution is to legislate that the tires of any speeder (in
the left lane and in front of a tall concrete divider, of course) are a
legitimate target. Lock 'n load, boys!
