Hi,

I'm setting up a new company in Atlanta with expertise in Database
Application Development and Internet/Intranet Application Development. Any
ideas about how to get IT outsourcing contracts from other companies or are
there any agents out there?

Thanks!

This is the wrong time to try to enter the Atlanta market. It is around
500% saturation at this point. Even companies that have been here for
years are having a hard time finding business. You will also find out
that there is a thing called a "preferred vendor" list that most
companies use as a source for contractors and it is virtually impossible
to do any business with those companies if you are not on that list.

What you'll find is that you might get lucky and get a few small
contracts, but your company will be in bankruptcy within a year unless
you have something to offer that absolutely no one else is doing. If you
think otherwise, then you really didn't do your research on the Atlanta
market because it would have shown that there is absolutely no need for
a new IT outsourcing company.

David,
I have been out of Atlanta for 13 months. When I was there, ComputerJobs
averaged around
5K jobs open. I looked at it last night and it was a little over 1K. That
should tell you that
your business venture is bound to fail.
How about credit counseling for former IT workers who were in Atlanta
for the golden years (
as I was) and are in debt so deep that they will not recover without
declaring bankruptcy?
I knew people who made about what I did and were buying the biggest
house they could
find. It was not a few; it was a lot of people in Atlanta.
