I restrict myself to the occasional beer or two or three, but I reached
my high school years just as the 70s were starting, and I'd already heard

George was labeled an "unproductive airman" by his superiors and
received a general discharge on July 29, 1957 for the following:

1) Insubordination
2) Disobeying a lawful order
3) Falling asleep on guard duty

While these infractions may be serious in the military. they wouldn't
have been crimes in civilian life. Don't try to make him sound like
he was some sort of dangerous criminal loosed on the world. Get
your facts straight before you post !

OOPS! He was court martialed 3 times, not just once. The US military has non judicial punishment for minor offenses and they only use the court martial for total losers and serious offenses if they want to get rid of them. I was a Legal Officer in the Navy for 4 years and in all that time,none of my cases were ever referred to court martial.
