Fine. Believe whatever you want... as long as you don't try to force your
belief upon others without some damn good evidence to support your case.
That way, everyone will be happy.

I find it hard to believe that some theists are so utterly insecure in their
own beliefs that they have to pretend that everyone else believes in the
same thing.

That's pretty pathetic.

Now that's really bright. That's about as stupid a statement as saying
'Christians' don't believe in God. And do you know why you posted your silly
message? Because you can't bring yourself to admit you've been brainwashed
so badly; that it's inconceivable to you that others can possibly hold any
view other than the ones you've been force-fed early on. And part of it is
that you are almost trying to 'will' others into thinking along the same
lines as you. We atheists make you feel uncomfortable. And part of that
discomfort comes from the awareness you have that we are absolutely right
for disbelieving the nonsense you've been brainwashed into believing. Think
about it: You believe that a 1st-century Jew walked on water, raised people
from the dead and in another guise, created the universe. All without the
tiniest bit of 'real' proof for any of it. Makes you feel a little stupid,
doesn't it? It should.

Am I saying you're stupid? I'm saying you've been severely brainwashed.
There's a difference.

Atheists do think that they think them selfs originaly that there is no God.

The same is with atheist people. Because their maker does not show up, they

cannot pull themselfs out of the swamp at their hairs.
Although only 15 % of the universe is visible to us and 85 % must be present

think that life, concusness, free will and spirit can emerge by accident

Probably because that's what someone told him to think and he's far too
stupid to think for himself. Personally, I think this claim that all
people secretly believe in their particular god is a coping mechanism.
The constant effort to maintain their beleagered faith in the face of
contrary evidence makes theists feel kind of like Atlas holding up the
world. When theists deny that it's possible to lack belief in god, they
seem to think that this will take some of the pressure off of them to
work so hard, since, after all, if it's impossible to think otherwise,
why worry. But there is a serious flaw in their thinking here. If it's
impossible to deny god, then how can we coherently distinguish "faith",
since, by their own assertion, there is no other choice that's even
available?

You've just proved Greywolf right. People thinking is the main thing
most religions dislike the most. Why? Because it undermines religion,
because thought is the natural enemy of religious dogma.

And that illustrates why you're stupid, brainwashed or very likely
both.

You know we don't share your god-belief any more than you share an
ancient Greek's Zeus belief.

So why did you say the question-begging stupid "But it is God that

Which wasn't just stupid but rude because you know we don't believe
that.

Who were you talking to? Yourself?

>If you make a painting of people, do these people in the painting know about

You know perfectly well atheists do not "think that" - we're merely
people who aren't any kind of theist.

We know you are brainwashed because you deny reality when it conflicts
with your religion, and because you can't grasp that in the real world
it is merely one of thousands of different religious beliefs, all
equally irrelevant.

Also because you imagine your beliefs apply to everybody else but
instead of demonstrating they do, using real world methods like
objective evidence, you resort to stupid, personal lies about us.

Why is it so hard to grasp that educated Christians everywhere accept
modern science because it is based on observation of objective
reality?

>I am not afraid of you, grey wolf. You are a man under the dead as long as
>you do not become disciple of Jesus Christ. Read you bible carefully, every

And you are a stupid, nasty, brainwashed idiot.

Why do you imagine (I didn't use the word "think" because you
obviously can't think) the bible means anything in the real world
outside your religion?

After all, if the Koran, the Book of Mormon, the Eddas, the
Bhagavad-Gita, the Greek myths etc mean nothing to you, why the heck
should your equivalent mean anything to us?

And the proof of that is ... ? Your proof that a 'God' truly exists is ... ?

> If you make a painting of people, do these people in the painting know
> about their making or maker.

Are the people in the 'painting' real people or representations of real
people? Is painting a picture of a portion of the universe the same as
'creating' a portion of the universe? If so, where would the 'artist'
possibly get the materials to 'create' that portion of the universe from? An
arts supply store?

No, because the maker does not act in the painting
> himself.

Neither do the individuals in the painting 'act'. They are simply
representations of people doing whatever they are doing. If you paint a
picture of 'God', does that make him 'real'?

> The same is with atheist people. Because their maker does not show up,
> they think he does not exist.

Well what is one supposed to think when, for centuries, theists have
maintained that there is absolutely no doubt that a 'God' exists, but
cannot, upon pain of death, prove it. Where is he?

Other people who give their faith to theire maker
> are supposed to be brainwashed, because they cannot explain otherwise.

What 'maker' would that be? A 'being' that can be detected and shown to
actually exist, or that imaginary, make-believe, non-existent 'God' that
resides only in the minds of brainwashed 'believers'? A 'maker'? Who 'made'
or 'created' God? He arose from nothing, you say? What? He didn't even have
a 'beginning', you say? Double 'what'?? That 'God' gave himself his
supernatural powers, imagination, intellect and the materials to form the
universe with? Hah! If that isn't *crazy* talk, I don't know what is. I
don't know what I'm talking about? Well go ahead and prove the existence of
'God' to this atheist using any valid 'evidence' you care to muster.

They
> cannot pull themselfs out of the swamp at their hairs.

I have no idea what you're trying to say here.

> Although only 15 % of the universe is visible to us and 85 % must be
> present because of its gravity, but with unknown properties to us,
> atheists still think that life, concusness, free will and spirit can
> emerge by accident from dead rock material, what a folish thought.

It sure would be -- *if* atheists actually believed anything that silly.
That thought is almost as 'foolish' as believing that you can actually have
your 'prayers' answered by faith and belief in 'God'. Try praying that an
amputee have his or her missing limb(s) miraculously restored through prayer
alone. It wouldn't happen even if you had every Christian on planet earth
pray simultaneously for that very miracle. What does that tell you? It tells
me that a lot of people have been lied to and misled into believing a brazen
pack of disgusting lies, that's what.

And then Christians are
> brainwashed, because there is no other explanation.

Christians are demonstrably brainwashed because they obstinately believe in
things that they could not possibly prove to be true and defy logic and
reason. It is a faith and belief in the pathetically absurd. Want proof? Try
admitting to this NG that it's just *possible* that you are wrong about your
'maker'. Try and do that. You can't. And do you know *why* you can't bring
yourself to allow for the *possiblity* that there may not be a 'God'?
Because you've been brainwashed.

It does not come there
> minds that Christians are at the right side.

I'm telling you here and now that if you or anyone else could point to
irrefutable proof that *any* deity exists, one of the first things I would
do is inform the members of this NG that I've been sufficiently persuaded
that a 'God' truly exists -- even if I had only been *fooled* into thinking
so. How about you? Could you tell the members of this NG that there is a
strong possibilty that 'God' exists nowhere except in one's imagination?

>
> I am not afraid of you, grey wolf.

Please. It's 'Greywolf'. And yes you are. You know I can cream your butt in
any kind of theological debate. Makes you nervous, doesn't it? But look at
it this way: Hopefully, we are both searching for the 'truth' in regards to
our existence. Truth will stand tall no matter what we throw at it. Science
is revealing the truth about our universe and our existence. Religion cannot
even *begin* to do so. Religion relies on esoteric teachings that have no
basis in 'fact' when relying on so-called 'prophets' and imagined deities.
Religion relies on blind faith. And blind faith is worthless in revealing
'truth'.

You are a man under the dead as long as
> you do not become disciple of Jesus Christ.

See. Your 'faith' rests, in large part, on 'fear'. Fear is the fuel for
belief in 'God'. Out of one side of your Christian mouths, you Christians
claim that 'God' is infinitely loving, merciful, compassionate and just,
while declaring an individual will suffer *eternal* torment and suffering
for not believing in a 'God' who steadfastly refuses to show himself, out
the other. How 'offensive' and 'unbalanced' is *that*? Why can't your 'God'
reveal himself to everyone? I'll tell you why. He doesn't exist -- outside
of your imagination.

Read you bible carefully, every
> day.
>

If you only knew how laughable your 'advice' actually is. I have actually
read the bible from cover to cover. Have you? I read it objectively. Do you?
Do you bother to question the veracity of those passages you read?

Unfortunately, it's not cold enough yet to have gotten rid of the bugs - the
kid and I got eaten alive by mosquitos at a SIL's house recently :P

It's getting there though - was about 50 degrees out when I got up this
morning. Opened up all the windows in the family room - Aaaaaaaah :)

Good sleeping weather. It gets cool in the evenings in California but
near the ocean, where I live, it also gets damp and clammy. The same in
the mornings. I miss the cool crisp air in other parts of the country.

From my hiking days in New England, I have lots of color slides that I

them digitized so I can put them on the computer in case I get nostalgic.

With or without the evidence. It isn't proper to force one's
beliefs upon others. Believing in a bad idea is bad without
regard to the object of the bad belief. It simply does not
matter if this evil God exists or not. The idea is bad -- end

It's *always* been there, in the halls of the mighty, (whereever thay
may be), it is just that the criminal is being revealed more and more
for some reason.

I like to think that is, (at least in part), due to the tireless
efforts of the denizens of alt.atheism to encourage recognition of
truth, reality and equality in the universe.

With the cat-lick church's multi-millennia-long support of
paedophillia crumbling in front of our very eyes, victims seem to feel
that by coming forward now, they may receive a bit of justice, unlike
the "good old days".

That's got to make one feel good.

The internet and broadcast media have changed everything. When Virgil
wrote in the Aeneid:

"Straightway throughout the Libyan cities flies rumor;--the report of
evil things than which nothing is swifter; it flourishes by its very
activity and gains new strength by its movements; small at first through
fear, it soon raises itself aloft and sweeps onward along the earth. Yet
its head reaches the clouds. . . . A huge and horrid monster covered
with many feathers: and for every plume a sharp eye, for every pinion a
biting tongue. Everywhere its voices sound, to everything its ears are
open. "

he didn't know it, but he was prophesying the rise of the Blogsters and
24/7 news coverage. Unfortunately the same can be said for lies.
