Wealthy Rabbi Accused of Financing Drug Dealing for Sex
A wealthy rabbi financed a drug dealing business and offered cocaine to
girls in exchange for sex, a court heard. Rabbi Baruch Chalomish, 54, rented
an apartment where he could ''relax and have a party'', Manchester Crown
Court heard. When police raided the apartment, and his home in an area of
Salford heavily populated with Orthodox Jews, they discovered a total of 101
grams (3.6oz) of cocaine and more than �17,000 in cash. Prosecutor Michael
Goldwater also told the jury of five men and seven women that Chalomish's
business partner, Nasir Abbas, 54, had failed to turn up for the trial and
is sought by police.

Why do you think so many Jews survived the war? If the Nazis wanted them
dead, they'd have been killed. They were saved through the efforts of the
Vatican. These lives were saved with the only thing the Vatican could offer,
passports for a handful of high officials. Golda Meir and David Ben-Guerin
knew this well. That's why they hailed His Holiness Pope Pius XII as a hero.

Not that I am disagreeing with your point-of-view on this discussion,
but, to be fair, isn't it true that everyone knew about it well before
the press conference? I.e., everybody (who was at all tuned in) knew
about the ratlines pretty much from when it happened.
These government press conferences always come several decades later,
and serve (the very noble and important) function of finally saying
officially what everyone knew all along. I'm waiting patiently for the
US government to admit to its role in the Kennedy assasination. I
almost thought we were there when E Howard Hunt died recently. Maybe we
just need one or two more key people to die.
