The unborn are the Jews of the fornication culture. We live in a
fornication culture in which sexual acts have been depersonalized and
despiritualized into mechanical acts of fundamentally anonymous
transient physical and emotional release. In such a culture, fertility
is an enemy, and the unborn are highly inconvenient.
The unborn, like the Jews in Nazi Germany, are the scapegoats for
personal problems and frustrations. Like the Jews of that time and
place, the unborn are highly vulnerable, easily located, and pose no
threat of resistance. Like the Jews, the unborn are viewed as eminently
disposable to a culture predisposed to resent them as a nuisance. The
unborn are indeed a nuisance to the fornication culture, as Jews were a
nuisance to a racist Aryan culture.
The unborn demonstrate the inalterable purpose of sexuality:
procreation. This reminder of the purpose of sexuality is anathema to a
fornication culture, just as the demonstrated economic and social
success of German Jews was anathema to the racist ideology of the
Nazis.
And so the unborn are indeed the Jews of the fornication culture. But
the fornication culture is, even more deeply, a culture of egoism. In
that culture, the unborn will not remain the only nuisance to be
eliminated. The disabled infant must also be eliminated as a burden.
And if the disabled infant, then also the disabled child and adult. And
certainly the elderly person whose care is an economic and emotional
burden. Unbounded egoism will keep adding nuisances to eliminate. We
are all potentially on that list of nuisances.
In the nineteen thirties, an anti-Nazi Lutheran clergyman, Pastor
Martin Niemöller, uttered this now famous quote:
'First they came for the Communists, but I was not a Communist, so I
said nothing. Then they came for the Social Democrats, but I was not a
Social Democrat, so I did nothing. Then came the trade unionists, but I
was not a trade unionist. And then they came for the Jews, but I was
not a Jew, so I did little. Then when they came for me, there was no
one left to stand up for me.'
Pastor Martin Niemöller
We need to apply that quote to the fornication culture of unbounded
selfishness that we are in today. Lincoln anticipated the same logic of
Pastor Niemöller when Lincoln pointed to the danger of carving
exceptions to the equality proclaimed in the Declaration of
Independence. Lincoln warned that an exception to enslave the "Negro"
opened the way to further exceptions to enslave more and more people
(see Powerlineblog.com for July 4, 2003). Yes, the unborn are the
persecuted Jews and enslaved "Negroes" of our fornication culture.

Oh, yeah. Dear bamela tried to pass itself off as some sort of
musician, a guitarist, I believe. Asked me all sorts of stupid-ass
questions, and then tried to make fun of the fact that I specialize in
classical, and not jazz. Of course, I trounced it by mentioning some
well-known guitar literature, and bamela was CLUE-less.
And then I mentioned some chamber music, where the guitarist would
have to collaborate with another musician or two, and again -- bamela
was CLUE-less. That leads me to believe that the little snotbag can't
get along with anyone IRL, either.

Gosh, I bet you're just all a-twitter, with IMAGES from the FIRST

Maybe if you were more pleasant to be around, you'd get to collaborate

solos. And don't get me wrong -- a good soloist is wonderful to hear,

Except that there were 82 years in the 20th century after his death,
during which Stravinsky, Copland, Poulenc, Honegger, Nielsen,
Hindemith, Genzmer, Bernstein, Shostakovich, Prokofiev, Jolivet,
Rorem, Ibert, Tower, Musgrave, Adams, Harbison, and Barber (to name
but a few) did just as much (and more) for the evolution and
continuation of western music.
What you neglect to mention, in your gushing hero worship, is that
Debussy and Ravel stood alone in their own category of
"impressionism." Debussy, in particular, had no students of great
import and had very little direct influence on succeeding composers.
In fact, there was an entire reaction of so-called "anti-Debussyism"
in French composition, wherein subsequent composers (cf Les Six,
Satie, Jolivet, Varese) deliberately reclaimed the standards of
tonality, discernable melody, and form which Debussy had abandoned.
In short, it was Debussy's shrewd decision to abandon that which had
come before him in French music which secured his place as a
"stand-alone" in the annals of music history, not necessarily how
great his music is.
But in this respect, Debussy did have great influence on the
succeeding generation of French composers, in that his music made them
react, albeit against it.
How's that for a dichotomy?
And as far as any criticism goes -- Debussy's output was uneven. His
best works are his orchestral, instrumental pieces (La mer, Premiere
Rhapsodie, Prelude a la apres-midi d'un faune). He had some success in
chamber music (Trio, Piano Trio, Cello Sonata) and song, and although
I happen to be of the opinion that his chamber music is underrated, he
is still best known for the orchestral music. After his one disastrous
attempt at opera (Pellias et Melisande), he avoided that genre
altogether.
"Giant among giants"? Only if you despise Shostakovich.
"his music *was* the 20th century"? Only if you went deaf in 1918.
> Falling short of his approval is nothing to be ashamed of.
Like his approval was hard to get, even when he was still alive.
Debussy was not getting rich from his composing, so he took on many
students to pay the bills. He was a very popular composition teacher
because he was, as they say, "easy to please." And not just in
composing classes, as the memoirs of some of his female students will
attest.
It's always best to nab those pianists early so they never remember
what it was like not to play.

I firmly believe that what goes around comes around.
It's no great stretch of imagination to surmise that bam has "issues"
about playing well with others.
The best example of that is from my "discussions" of music with it.
(Usually, I say something about the music, and bamela says something
rude, personal, and untrue about me, in a fit of projection).
bamela only discusses music for solo piano and guitar, no chamber
music, where players must collaborate. In fact, bamela has spoken
quite ill of playing chamber music and of the chamber music genre.
Gee, I wonder if that's because little bamela manages to piss off
everyone it has ever worked with, and now seeks refuge in playing with
itself?

Nope, just one, but it's been a good one so far. Sadly, some people, like

Add stupidity to your list at confession, Bryan.
That ain't a sin Bonnie. But I wouldn't expect you to knwo that.
BAM
Add ignorance to your list for Confession, Bryan.
But I wouldn't expect you to 'knwo' {sic} that.
BTW, I notice you keep dodging that fact that your verbal abuse of
gays and lesbians IS a SIN in your cult. Avoidance will not help you
resolve your issues.
Repent now, hell-bound sinner.
I think you're role playing at this point - a queer attribute.
BAM
Another sin for Bryan, who is so out of communion with his beloved
cult.
Repent now, hell-bound sinner!
I see you're making even less sense as the years go by...

You're talking to a lying bigot who only has typos as weapons in spreading

Try making some sense. Your supercilious mask is dangling.

Or at least acknowledge that one is doing so.

The pro-abortion mantra rears its ugly head. Pure opinion ...
John Dowling
john.d...@verizon.net
Nah. It's not the pro-abortion mantra. It is the pro-law mantra. I
find it hilarious, however, that Republicans say they're all for law and
order...except when the laws go against their agenda.

First, I'm not Republican, but Libertarian. Secondly, using the "law"
to prove a point doesn't (or shouldn't) necessarily prove the reality
of anything.
John Dowling

Nor am I Democratic, but Libertaian.

But it does prove what you can be punished for doing.
