Immaculate deception

Maybe this has been discussed already, but if Jesus was supposedly the son
of god, immaculately conceived unto Mary, and our savior (a term which by
definition assumes humanity was on the verge of extinction) and we have no
evidence, is it not possible that Jesus (assuming he did exist) was naught
more than the bastard son of an adulterer? How stupid was her husband! I'd
love to see a "virgin" christian woman (assuming there are any left) have a
kid, then convince her husband that she was impregnated by a god. Ya, right.
I'd fall for that one...
BTW, as far as humanity's future in 0a.d., I invite you to consider that
ignorance is bliss. We look back at history and say, "see how much better
off we are [thanks to Jesus]." But if you never knew life any other way
than as a slave/pauper/whatever, what frame of reference would you have to
compare your life with? You wouldn't. You would exist in a paradigm whereby
you could not consider what living life differently would look like. Freedom
simply would not occur as a possibility for you. This is the domain of what
you don't know you don't know, and the reason dictators discourage programs
which contribute to the enlightenment of the masses. Is it not possible that
Jesus was in fact trying to dominate the world?

she made up this crazy "Christ" story. As Jesus grew up she kept putting
this "You're the son of God" story into his head, and he ended up believing
it. When Paul came along, he got brainwashed too because of the
attractiveness of the "Christ" myth. Anyway, that's how I see the ultimate
origin of Xianity.

Nope, that's not how it started. Some excellent reading on this is Joseph
Campbell's works. But be prepared for some hard reading (but also very
enlightening). He gives you a framework under which all religions were
born.
The "Christ story" was not new at all. The christian writers simply borrowed
it from other cultures already establish mythologies.

In the bible, it clearly states that Joseph is descended from King
David. (That would mean that he is of royalty eg.important!) Jesus,
the son of Mary and Joseph, would therefore be the heir to the Davidic
throne. He would be the messiah, or the christ. (The annointed one,
the chosen one.) It has nothing to do with being the son of god. At
most, the historical Jesus (whoever that may be), was waiting in line
for the throne of the Jewish people...just waiting for the Romans to
leave town!

Actually he did think that she had been unfaithful, but supposedly he
then had a dream in which Gawd came to him and explained the matter. As
if! I mean , he could have dreamed the whole thing and convinced himself
that this was the real thing.
But there's one thing I don't understand. She's supposed to be a virgin
isn't she? So why did she and Joseph never have sex before that point?
