Funny how that same map keeps cropping up.

During the recent election, there was a website with an up-to-the-minute
map of which candidate had won which states. As we all know, the East and
West coast states went with Obama, while Romney states formed a swath
through the Midwest and the deep South.
There is another web site that highlights the similarity between that map
and a map of states the legalized slavery in 1859, and
allowed/required segregation in the 1950.
Now, Jerry Coyne has uncovered yet ANOTHER similar map; this one showing
the letter grades that each state was given regarding their school science
standards:
