You can also flood your aura with rays of white and violet light,
just like the Dieties and Devas do. As the Vedas declare, TAT TVAM ASI,
"You are That." The Self, its effulgent light, is within you, and acces-
sible. If you are in a bad mood, jealous or angry, there is a way to use
this light to heal yourself. Your aura is now brownish with nurky, dirty
green, possibly accented with black and red sparks. To counteract this
heaviness, just add white. Visualize white light spreading out from the
center of your spine, from the Sushumna Nadi current, into and through
your aura. Visualize violent rays flooding into your new white aura in-
vigorating and cutting through the darkness.
If resentment and anger are not conquered in this life, these Karmas
go to seed -- waiting in the next birth to remanifest. When favorable
conditions occur, they burst out in a full array of color and take over
the outer-aura emotions.
Even inside the mother, as the unborn child grows physically, his in-
ner aura grows, too. That's why expectant mothers, especially, sing re-
ligious songs. This blesses the baby with pastel shafts of light that
penetrate the astral body of the baby and help in harmonizing and soft-
ening any negative seed Karmas.
The Upanishads tells us that we must purify the intellect. What does
this actually mean? In one sense, it means that we must lighten up the
colors of our inner aura within the subconscious. When the subconscious
is finally cleansed, the intellect reflects this clarity and the outer
aura shows yellow, blue and lavender in and through it. Daily Sadhana
helps to prevent emotional outbursts which fill the aura with red ener-
gies that in turn agitate the Vrittis, or mind waves, making Shanti --
the natural peace of the mind seem so elusive.
Going on a long pilgrimage once a year to a sacred Tirtha, holy
place, is another wonderful way to ensure a spiritual life and pastel
aura. On pilgrimage we take our inner aura tha t has been accumulating
various color patterns throughout the year and place it at the feet of a
God at some far-off temple. While on these pilgrimages we mentally col-
lect together all the colors, the emotions and deep feelings we have in-
side and leave them, along with our offering of fruit and flowers, at
the God's Holy Feet to be disintegrated. To further keep the colors of
our subconscious bright, our religion instructs us to read scripture dai-
ly. This is because these high-minded thoughts and concepts bring pur-
ple, lavender, pink and yellow into our aura, just through the magical
moments of reading. Over time, these Diptimandalam (radiant) auric hues
actually become an established, integrated part of our home.
The colors used to harmonize and protect the emotional nature are
light blue and violet. Visualize beautiful sky blue and vivid violet and
begin to feel how quiet the lower feelings and emotions become. When
this Tantra or method is performed at regular intervals, one's aura soon
becomes impervious to all negative feelings and moods of others and we
are transported into the more refined, uplifting realms of the higher
mind.
Sidebar: HOW TO SEE AN AURA
Seeing an aura is like seeing through someone. Their physical body
begins to fade just a little bit, and we see the aura around and through
it. To begin acquiring this sight, softly look at someone through the
corners or edges of your eyes. This works best in a dimly lit room where
the person is silhouetted by a dark background. The colors around the
person are first seen within your own mind. You would not clearly see
them around their physical body. Later, after becoming adjusted to this
new form of sight, you will see colors around an individual's body, but
in the inner ether, not in the air itself, for the aura is of the astral
plane. Children can see auras and so can animals.
