Hi, everyone! A few days ago I posted an article asking for opinions on
the possible effects of Pluto transiting the nadir of my birthchart.
However, I made the mistake of not changing the "subject" field, which
was "RE: John Gacy" (as a jumping-off point, I had included part of a
post by Carole Egan, who was replying to someone else, and talking about
effects of Pluto transiting a person's Ascendant).

Although I did receive a couple of very interesting responses, I
wondered if perhaps my post was not widely read because people were
skipping over it due to the "subject" (I can certainly understand that,
Gacy being one of the most dreadful creatures ever to disgrace this
beautiful earth.)

But what I'd like to explain is that my post actually had nothing to do
with the subject of Gacy, I just forgot to change the "subject" field.
And I'm hoping that if I wheedle and whine plaintively enough, maybe I
could coax a few words from some of the alt.astrology stalwarts like
Carole, Sandy, Jane, et al. Heck, I'm so desperate for opinions, I even
hope Paul will post saying that there will be no effect whatsoever,
since astrology is all silly nonsense! ;-)

I'm just coming off of a long (seemed like forever) period of Pluto
transiting my natal position of the moon's south node, in exact square
to stationary Saturn in the 12th House (for reference I've included my
birthchart below). But now Pluto has already reached the position of my
natal Mercury (conjunct my I.C.), so my next fun ride has already begun,
and of course will be ongoing for quite a while.

Well, thanks for listening, y'all. I'd be delighted to hear anyone's
opinions and/or personal experiences with Pluto transiting the I.C.

No need to whine and wheedle, Jay. (or come to think of it, maybe there WAS!
After all, I am answering this since you did whine...:)

I cannot speak from experience on Pluto crossing the IC as it will never
happen in my lifetime, however, Pluto is parked on my MC and affecting my
IC by opposition heavily! Think of what Pluto represents and that's what
I have in my household this year -- it ain't a pretty sight. So methinks
that you should observe what occurs in your career (10th house) as Pluto
comes to your IC.

I think you are going to be involved in a lot of power issues, especially
since Pluto will very shortly conjunct your Mercury, which also happens to
be your chart's ruling planet. People who know you well will swear you are
a different person. You may exhibit behaviors that seem too forceful, or
demanding compared to your "normal" personality. This is an important time
of transformation for you. You are on a path to make something useful of
your life and it appears that your career over the next several years will
be the focus of it.

Just recently, work and health were big issues in your life as Saturn
transited your 6th house. Now that it's moved into your 7th, partnerships
are under the microscope as you will probably find that the moves you make
towards building a career may backfire in your relationships.

So watch that Pluto transit and try not to get lost in the feeling of being
powerful and intense -- people not going through the transit find it hard to
understand.

Sandy

Hello,...........hello!

Jay, one good way to come up with background information regarding future
transits is to take one of the other outer planets and look back to when
that planet (Saturn would be a good one) transited your i.c. What were the
effects then. How aboutJupiter. find those times and begin your work,
also get good information from the Rob Hand Book on Transits and any other
transit books. You may not see an immediate recaction to a Pluto transit.
His transits are better reviewed after a few years. Trouble is though, if
yourbirthtime is off and you have not rectified your chart, the transit
could be past or even more into the future. Pluto transits are more a
process, a becoming.

The main thing with Pluto on the i.c. is that you are transforming your
basic roots and foundations as an individual. The fourth house, as Debbie
Kemption Smith says, is the psychiatrists delight. The 4th contains your
hangups from when you are born and early childhood. Basic imprints. Time
to grow up again!!!

Hi, Sandy! Thank you so much for your wonderful response. I really see
many nuggets of truth in what you wrote. However, I must set the record
straight on one thing (reference quote from your post above):

I am not, nor have I ever been, Pete Stapleton. :-)

I was born with pluto somewhat conjunct my nadir..along with Uranus
being exactly on my nadir.....it's really kind of difficult to describe
what pluto in the fourth is like..upheavals in the home, alot of persnal
upsets, changes of residence...fixation on security issues. Still that
can't describe what Pluto in the fourth is like.

I used to like to desribe Pluto in the houses as like..."Godzilla"
because like Godzilla, pluto transit can recreate alot of fear and havok
in our lives. So if transiting pluto is in your 4th er Godzilla is in
your fourth..in scoprpio mind you, this bespeaks of alot of personal
issues, rising out of the "muck" in your life/a nd society as well coming
to haunt you. And that the next couple of years as pluto goes into sagi,
is going to be a time of finding a philosophy onto which to re-built your
life.
though I would think pluto in the fourth might make this seem kinda
difficult.

I have Pluto currently transiting my 4th house. My IC is at 17 degrees
Scorpio, so this just began. Lots of issues have come up in regard
to my parental family as well as numerous changes in regard to my
home. My mother died about two years and my subsequent finding out
that she had had a child out of wedlock years before I was born has
led to a reappraisal of many things I have come to take for granted
about my early life. I've been working for some time to find out
what's important enough to me to go and study for a real career, but
haven't managed a to find a focus. I'm planning to move to the east
coast, although all my life I've loved the Northwest, but things seem
to be pulling me in that direction. Again, this is a reevaluation of
things I've always taken for granted.

I like the image of Godzilla moving through the houses, although
my Sag moon on the fifth house cusp isn't looking forward to being
plummeled in about 5 years!

Good luck!

Nor did I imply that you were, Jay. I don't know HOW that got in there!
I went back and looked at the original message and there it is: Pete Stapleton
right in your attribution line. Had I noticed it before, I would have removed
it.

Hmm....what is going on? First my reply to Jay attributed his

attributed his quoted remarks to Matt Keogh! Something very strange

Hi Bonnie,
For the past 5 to 6 years, Pluto has been active in my chart, by
conjunction. First the N,.Node, Moon, opposite Venus, then opposite Uranus
and finally conjunct the midheaven. Now in my lifetime (born 1939) Pluto
had never been conjunct a personal planet or point. The power of
conjunctions is awesome. Dealing with the new energies - power for
yourself or from others - will be the theme for Pluto. The phrase that is
associated with Pluto is - reaching the heights and the depths - is so very
true. My parents had already passed on so I did not have to deal with
their illnesses or deaths and what remained for me was the issues around
the 9th house belief systems, career issues - kind of like 'so who's the
boss', 3rd house issues around learning, teaching, siblings ( I have one
brother and he had 3 major surgeries in 1 1/2 yrs ) and now 4th house
issues. The 4th - remember Pluto is opposing and I will never have the
conjunction to the 4th, so the opposition says you will deal that house in
some way - has been a complete renovation of the home. While we started to
redecorate, we ended up finding the termites alive in a 2nd floor bedroom.
We now have to deal with this situation with lawyers while living in one
zone of the house that looks as though a bomb hit it. With Pluto, those
walls come tumbling down.

Sometimes I think astrologers can be carried away by images of loss and
destruction of things they might not be able to handle with a Pluto
transit. This is not always true. Life and death are part of the human
existance and the joy and sorrow of the events in our lives hold true for
everyone.

For someone like you, Bonnie, having a Sag Moon and knowing when Pluto is
traveling up the road to visit your emotions, try to welcome the experience
of becoming. Becoming what? You are adding power to your emotional base,
your home, your family. Your belief systems about who you are and why you
do the things you do will transform. You may travel extensively and
welcome a foreigner into your life and this may be the time you become so
involved with children (5th) or a very eventful new romance. Some of these
things are possible for you, it's up to you to know which ones are. You
are the deciding factor. How you handle your new power may offend many.
People will react differently towards you - realize that you are in the
process of change and have to sort of 'break in the new shoes' regarding
your personality!

Remember too, that a Sagittarius Moon is one hellofa lot lighter than a
Scorpio Moon. You may just throw the party of a lifetime!!!

Regards, Carol

Golly! your message to Bonnie could almost have been to me. She must have
Virgo rising! I, too, will soon have Pluto crossing my I.C. into the
fourth, then conjunct Venus (and activate a grand fire trine...no squares
except to the ASC), then my Moon a couple of years later...still part of
grand trine! Gonna knock out walls? Golly, I hope not! I have finally got
the house the way I want it. I wonder what is going to happen to my
mate/relationships. Hope new and good. I would love to get to travel.
Have been hoping Jupiter with Pluto would allow that! My chart is:

Indeed, I've had Pluto transiting my four-planet conjunction in Scorpio
(Mercury, Moon, Sun, and Saturn, in that order) and I agree that their
power is awesome. I can't wait for it to move to Sagittarius :-)

Yes, but it's just as bad to take a Pollyanna view of everything. When
Pluto conjoins one's Moon, your entire emotional outlook is revisited,
and that's very distressful.

Not that I disagree with your reading (deleted here for space), it's just
that one could come up with an equally-valid, less optimistic view.

Touche' -- perhaps this is the not-so-light view? :-)

Pluto in the 4th of house of a natal chart can also suggest a change
in gender for this lifetime. Many people I have talked with who have
this in their chart say they can relate to the feelings associated
with this. The theory is that if you are presently a man, many of
your past lives were as a woman, and this recent gender switch is
felt deep within. This gender change most often affects the
individual in a psychological rather than sexual level. Many women
with this position identify strongly with their masculine side and
are very ambitious, goal-oriented. Men with this position may be
strongly affected by their inner feelings and emotions.

JA>Hi, everyone! A few days ago I posted an article asking for opinions on
JA>the possible effects of Pluto transiting the nadir of my birthchart.

Your natal Mercury/nadir is square Mars/ascendant, and if we include
the midheaven we would have a t-square, with the release or balance
point (the empty end) at the descendant. Your professional life or
career aspirations (10th) also relates to the Mercury/Mars square as
Mercury is associated with Gemini (your Midheaven) and Virgo
(Ascendant).

So.... Currently you have Pluto conjuncting Mercury/Nadir, and
squaring Mars/Ascendent as well as opposite your Midheaven (and
affected by the conjunction because Gemini is related to your
Mercury). This transit suggests you are going through very deep
psychological changes that affect your feelings, home life, as
well as professional goals. In the next few years you may find work
opportunity away from your home base, or you may start working out of
your home. Your mind is preoccupied with issues relating to work or
home security and what it is you really want to do. Another
possibility is a change in professional standing. Your relationships
or partnerships may help provide you with the balance needed to
harmonize your home life, career, and self-expression.

Pluto starting to square ascendant may give you the desire to
regenerate your self-expression or your work skills. You're apt to be
more introverted and less expressive than normal.

At the same time, Pluto is sextiling your Moon, which is strong
because the moon interacts with its natural house. You're natal
Mercury sextile the Moon helps you express how you're feeling, in
general, so this period of time (the next two or three years) is good
for getting in touch with how you feel and what your needs are, both
domestically and professionally. About 4 years down the road
should be very fortunate for you as Pluto will be hitting your
Jupiter and Sun, could be the payoff. :)

Hope this helps....
