Barack Obama & the USA Chart

America. Thanks to Charles Bash for insisting that I do that - it's
fascinating.
So far, I've been comparing President Barack Obama's birth chart with the
chart for the founding of the USA. (I used the version of the chart with
the 8º Gemini ascendant. Argument welcome.)
Just for reference, the positions are:
USA: Su 13 Can, Mo 15 Aqu, Me 24 Can, Ve 2 Can, Ma 20 Gem, Ju 6 Can, Sa 15
Lib, Ur 9 Gem, Ne 22 Vir, Pl 27 Cap, As 8 Gem, MC 14 Aqu.
Obama: Su 12 Leo, Mo 3 Gem, Me 1 Leo, Ve 1 Can, Ma 22 Vir, Ju 0 Aqu, Sa 25
Cap, Ur 25 Leo, Ne 8 Sco, Pl 6 Vir, As 18 Aqu, MC 28 Sco.
The results are rather striking. Obama's Moon is on the USA Ascendant, and
vice versa. This means his Ascendant also falls on the USA MC. His Sun is
on the US IC, opposite the USA's Moon. His Venus coincides exactly with the
USA Venus, and his Mercury just about coincides with the USA Mercury (8
degrees difference). His "Part of Fortune" (9 Sag), if you bother with
that, is within 1 degree of the USA's Descendant. Also his Mars is within a
degree of the USA's Neptune, and his Jupiter and Saturn both conjoin the
USA's Pluto. I haven't added up the probability of someone's birth chart
having so much connection with the USA's, but I'd say it was pretty
striking. Incidentally, I suppose this tends to establish the validity of
Barack Obama's birth data, and that of the USA.
I also did a composite chart, the kind where each planet is taken to be
halfway between its positions in the charts of the two people being
considered. It's supposed to be read as a description of the relationship
between the two. I've never been sure about this method myself. Not that
I've ever done it before, but it seems so peculiar to draw up a chart for an
arrangement that never actually occurred in the sky. But it produced rather
striking results here.
Composite chart: Su 28 Can, Mo 9 Lib, Me 28 Can, Ve 1 Lib, Ma 6 Leo, Ju 18
Lib, Sa 5 Sag, Ur 15 Can, Ne 10 Lib, Pl 17 Sco, As 13 Lib. I had difficulty
with the MC. It kept coming out as 6 Cap, which is ridiculous. So I called
it 6 Can and the IC 6 Cap. Has anyone come across this problem in composite
charts, or any other kind of midpoint work?
The "Part of Fortune" (6 Lib), the Moon, Neptune, and Jupiter are all
clustered tightly around the Ascendant. Jupiter is rising (the others have
already risen) - a good sign, I'd say.
The 10th House and MC (status, career, fame, in a political chart leaders)
accounts for all but two other planets. Venus, in the 9th house of
inspiration, is conjunct the MC; reminiscent of the slightly hysterical
public admiration that greeted his election. Taking the other side of the
MC is Uranus, which has at least three appropriate meanings. Most
obviously, it stands for his election as the candidate of "change" - and a
black US president is a pretty big change in himself. The second meaning is
change in another sense - "Events, dear boy, events"! Of course
circumstances catch up with every politician sooner or later, but the
position of Uranus is rather appropriate. Its only favourable aspect is a
trine to Pluto, planet of big business, the stock market, and also oil, in
the 2nd House of money. Pluto likewise makes no other favourable aspect -
it's as if the two planets are ganging up against the rest of the chart.
The third meaning is the political "left wing", Obama being the nearest
thing to left-wing America has had for a while, although he knows what's
possible and what isn't.
