How valid are these things? It seems a little arbitrary to just say
that you add one degree to your natal chart every year. Why would your
chart progress anyway? I mean like with daily transits you can at least
compare current planetary positions to natal planetary and house
positions, so there are tangible things to observe. But with a progress
chart there doesn't seem to be any physically tangible interactions
between objects to say, "This is why you are seeing a change in your
life!".

Ideas? Opinions?

Hi Yousuf,
Progressed conditions of any kind do not work with an incorrect birth
time.
In public workshops I have done quite a few progressed charts (
rectifying them first ), the querant and the rest of the group are
normally impressed with the results acquired.
Motion is or death convenes :), there are many motions to consider in
a chart. The level of ones expertise is what limits or grants ability
:).

Dear Yousuf,
My stock answer to these questions is that all of man's totally
subjective pursuits are by definition "arbitrary". In for a penny: in
for a pound. However, natal charts (progressed whatever) are like a
kind abstract portrait; if you see the likeness of a recognizable
person, place, or thing in all this technically haphazard creativity,
then *you* have acquired some measure of what the art has to offer.
