Hi, when someone has both Venus and Mars in Aquarius, are they hopeless as
a romantic partner? According to what I've read so far, it sounds like the
makings for a cold fish. Hope it isn't true. (Cap sun, Taurus moon, too).

Any opinions?

Hi there. Y'know it's funny, but you seem to have almost just
described my ex-husband, with the exception of the Moon (his is in
Aries). He was definitely not a cold fish. He was however very
"conventionally" romantic...which often seemed a little phony, and
hey, it might have been. Perhaps he thought that's what my own Venus
in Pisces was looking for. But, no, I wouldn't think Venus and Mars
in Aquarius makes someone hopeless in the romantic relationship arena.
He was incredibly devoted, faithful, and kind. Like anything, it's
going to depend on the make up of the other partner...great for some
I'm sure...but not my cup of tea.:) --Jen

Venus and/or Mars in Aquarius can manifest itself as a taste for the
out-of-the ordinary in matters of romance and sex. Nothing cold-fishy
there. And also keep in mind that Aquarius is a fixed sign. For all it's
wackiness and kinkiness, Venus/Mars in Aquarius makes for a devoted,
constant flow of love.

You friend having a Taurus Moon should add a good amount of sensuality to
his/her approach. (Yes, it is possible to be too kinky. That Taurus moon
will smooth the rough edges nicely.)

Good luck!

Interestingly, my husband also has Sun in Capricorn, Moon in Taurus and
Venus and Mars in Aquarius. Jana is right in her assessment of this
combination. Good luck!

I predict you will both lose your false teeth in a monkey-kissing
contest, which is about as accurate as any other prediction you are
likely to get around here.

Oh indeed! Sounds like me except for a Pisces Sun. My Mars and Venus
are loosely conjunct (6 deg) in my 8th in Aquarius. In fact, I'm right
about to hit Uranus conjunct my Mars in the next week or so and my
nervous system is jumping like a downed high tension line. We Venus/Mar
in Aquarius and Taurus Moon types are certainly NOT hopeless! My Taurus
Moon has given me great depth and stability and constancy in my love and
affections for people to say nothing of being very physical and very
sensual in my displays of affection, both sexual and not. Now Venus
conjunct Mars in the 8th in Aquarius (also squaring my moon) seems to
have resulted in someone pretty damn hyper-sexual at times and VERY
experimental with regard to sex. One issue about this is that Aquarius
Venus/Mars is not particularly possesive of their lover. I have
personally NEVER cared that my lovers have had sexual relationships
outside the relationship PROVIDED my Taurus moon feels the emotional
commitment that I feel. One thing, never underestimate the emotional
constancy of a Taurus Moon provided it isn't aspected too difficultly.
Mine is the focus of a T-square with Venus in Aqu opposite Uranus in Leo
- I am a tad open minded in my approach to sex to say the least. Others
I have met with this aspect also seem to have a certain quality of
androgyny to their approach to sex. I know of at least 8 other bisexual
people born within a week either way of my birthdate (see sig.) At
least for the group born 2/15/1960 through 3/10/1960 all of them I think
most people would consider somewhat hypersexual and experimental,
regardless of house placement, due I believe to the loose opposition
with Uranus at that time. At least with this group of people with
Venus/Mars in Aquarius you wouldn't have to worry about the cold fish
syndrome in bed, although you may find more than him or her in the bed
with them when you get there and your lover with wide grin welcoming you
to jump in and join the fun.

Now a Cap Sun... I might tend to worry about that making for a cold
fish. Although I have Cap on my 7th and find something there for
myself, on a more detached plane my experience with Caps both as friends
and clients seems to show folks that have difficulty manifesting that
earthy sensuality or even being comfortable with it. Most of the Caps I
have known have had some difficulty relaxing into sexual intimacy. Most
live by a set of "shoulds" and "musts" and "shouldn'ts" and "musn'ts"
and many took it so seriously in that Saturnine/Capricorn way that they
have difficulty just being in the moment and spontaneous and having a
good time with their lover.

I think the previous poster mispelled his last name. It should end in an
"s" and not and "h."

Venus and Mars in Aquarius will not be as "romantic" as say having the
two in Leo or Pisces, in the sense that Aquarius will have an
intellectualizing effect on the desires and emotions. But having both
planets in the same sign, especially if they are conjunct by degree, can
make one more passionate as well as more attractive to others than if
only Venus or Mars were in Aquarius alone. But again, the term
passionate is relative, because a conjunction in other signs (aside from
the air signs) will be much more passionate. Air signs tend to live in
the their heads and this makes them more detached, and yes they can seem
cold to those who have fire or water in their charts.

Capricorn Sun signs are also often accused of being "cold fish" because
they often have problems being physically and emotionally demonstrative
unless they feel very very safe. And even then, they won't be as
demonstrative as other signs. Taurus is a little more demonstrative,
but Moon in Taurus isn't particularly open about their feelings. Again,
the safety thing applies, but Moon in Taurus isn't very introspective
either. Almost all the Moon in Taurus people I've known, when asked how
they feel about something, will frequently reply "I don't know" or "I
can't explain it." It's not that they're unfeeling, just that they have
problems talking about their emotions. That's why Moon in Taurus
conflicts with Moon in Leo--Moon in Leo is very open about their
feelings, very demonstrative to the point of being overly dramatic. A
person with Moon in Leo is much more likely to be able to display
physical affection in public then Sun Capricorn Moon Taurus person with

Since I have venus conjunct uranus in gemini, I can sense a rapport with
the venus in aquarius. It is not that there is a lack of romanticism, but
there can be an abhorance of sentimentalism, which some people mistake as
romanticism. Rather that being mushy type lovey, dovey stuff, there is a
preference for clear, electrical passing of energy, a clarity between
two(or more) :) people, regardless of any "familiarity". The charge comes
not from any habitual formula one may have developed for being romantic,
but is original and spontaneous, with a life of its own. It is an unusual
appreciation of love, with philia roots.
