1. What is the difference between aspects, progressions and transits
when looking at a chart?
2. If I create a bi-wheel chart comparing the natal chart with
planetary events for December 30, 2009, in order to get a good picture
of what is going on should I use transits, progressions or aspects to
the natal chart?
3. Would the aspects of a progressed chart and a transit chart for the
same day, December 30, 2009 be the same? (natal chart in the inner
wheel and progressions and/or transits on the ourter wheel)
4. I am assuming that the progressed chart would be a better choice to
show long term events, is that correct?
5. If I cast the progressed chart for that date, would the inner
planet aspects be the same on a transit chart cast for the same date?
6. To get the best picture, should I be casting a tri-wheel chart with
the natal, transits and progressions in the chart?
Thank you in advance. I've posted here before you you all have been
so helpful to me. I appreciate the time you take to answer my
questions.

This is no much help for the questions asked. I have the same
questions.
Most good students start out by reading lots and lots of books,
taking classes, studying with teachers and books... and we get
the answers. Then, we apply what we've learned over the course
of decades, via books, teachers, and experience.
The internet is no substitute for books and teachers. Would you
expect to learn any subject very well on the internet without
interactive teachers and dozens (or hundreds) of books? Could
you become a philosophy major by reading links on the internet?
Could you become a math major?
Why would you expect to learn anything as complex as astrology,
relying only on the internet?
Since you asked so nicely and giving you reading material somehow failed to
help, here are your answers to the questions asked:
1 - yes
2 - yes
3 - no
4 - perhaps
5 - please define "best" and re-submit the question
There ya go!

Transit

Progression

4.
It is generally believed to be the case, but transits from Uranus
through Pluto are also rather long-term and these planets hardly
change position at all in progressed charts.
6.
You really should learn the difference between transits and
progressions before mixing them together. If you do not understand the
individual parts of a chart, you will not understand their sum.
Myself I do not use wheels at all, so I am sorry I have nothing to say
on these. However, Wikipedia is actually a quite good resource for
astrological information, so it is possible you may find something on
these there.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Astrology
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Portal:Astrology
There is also the de Vore encyclopaedia of astrological terms. I think
it is disputed on some minor points, but in general it is a quick and
good resource:

In general the above sources will give you as good answers as you can
get on the Internet unless you are willing to spend quite a lot of
time with a search engine. When you have understood and mastered what
they say, it will have to be books for a continued deepening of your
understanding. If you aim at becoming an astrologer, reading some of
the literature will be indispensable.

By the way, I was *not* putting down your reply with the link; I
thought your links were very good.
I just get frustrated with people who think they can learn
anything instantly. Like ordering popcorn at a movie, or pizza
for supper - instant gratification. They should understand that
astrology is a vast study with countless methods and sub-sets.
nor did I take your reply askance!
Kjell's reply was a bit more kind than yours or mine, but was cut from the same
cloth: No forcefeeding for YOUUUUU!
:-D
It worried me that I might have inadvertently slighted you, so
I'm very glad of that.
