Hello,
I'm pretty new to astrology....well at least trying to do my own birth
chart.
I was born on January 8, 1980 at 2:59 am (10:59 GMT) in Granada Hills (Los
Angeles) California.
I used to go to web sites (astrology.com, Adze.com...etc;), like a lot of
other people, and get my birth chart info...and it would always tell me that
my moon sign was in Virgo( also my mars, jupiter, saturn, midheaven and north
node). I kind of questioned it...like a typical Virgo...hehe.
But yesterday I purchased "The only astrology book you'll ever need", and
it shows that for for January 8, my moon sign was in Libra.
The book just says that if there's any reason to question this, to read the
moon sign interpretations and figure out wich one sounds more like you.
I also checked another book, Parkers Astrology New Edition. I didnt really
go completely through this book because of reviews I read about it...mainly
saying how it had incorrect info. I checked it's Ephermis anyway and it
shows that January 9th was the day the moon moved into Libra

Beign that I'm not very neat (now the world knows!) and i don't worry to
much about my health.....I don't see that Virgo side. Plus I hate working
and have run into problems with big wigs where I didnt feel like serving. I
tried to make it a point that I new what I was doing, but that might just be
my Capricorn Sun/ Mercury.
I love music and art...and am pretty lazy...almost hippie like. And the
interpretations I've read about "drawling speech"...dead on!
I do see some of the Virgo stuff, like the nervous energy and self
confidence issue. But I can also see the Libra side of it. Is there a moon
sign cusp?

Can anyone help me clear this up a little?
Thanks,
Ozzy
ps. I didnt mean to write a novel..sorry. =)

Your natal Moon is in Virgo, at 25:16 Virgo. The Moon may have gone into Libra
that day, but not until several hours after you were born.

The descriptions that "cookbooks" give can be misleading, because having the
Sun, Moon, or Ascendant in Virgo doesn't necessarily mean that you're a "neat
freak."

You have the Moon conjunct Saturn in Virgo in the 10th House (but leaning
toward the 11th House), as well as the Sun and Mercury in Capricorn, so one
might think that you'd be a workaholic career-oriented person who gets along
well with bosses and older authority figures-- whereas you say that you "hate
working and have run into problems with big wigs." Actually, this is easy to
understand, because you have Uranus in your 1st House conjunct your Ascendant,
which makes you more likely to be a disobedient, freedom-loving rebel. :-)
Also, your Moon and Saturn are square Neptune, so you're likely to be attracted
to things that other people may consider to be "impractical" or "flakey," and
you may experience misunderstandings or even "underhandedness" with respect to
your bosses or older authority figures. Additionally, your Sun is square
Pluto, so you may tend to experience power struggles with other people,
especially if they feel threatened by you.

When reading stock interpretations of the planets in the signs (or, for that
matter, in the houses), you should always take any aspects into consideration,
because the aspect meanings can greatly augment or even contradict the stock
interpretations of the sign positions. And you have to look at the aspects
together. For example, you might find that stock interpretations of the Moon
conjunct Saturn don't seem to fit you very well, because the squares between
Neptune and your Moon and Saturn will affect the way your Moon-Saturn
conjunction operates, thus you should read Moon conjunct Saturn, Moon square
Neptune, and Saturn square Neptune together.

This site probably has the best free charts:

Astrology books are a little like roadmaps printed for people who travel
by car on expressways and interstates. Rather like touring cyclists most of
us have to search for all the missing map details, and thus make our way
bumping along much more narrow and solitary byways. Where these two ways
are parallel, and where these intersect, may not be in "the book" ,or on
"the map", (which is intended for the lazy masses of velocitized motorists
who are apparently at lot less curious). As always its the actual 'going'
and not the 'getting there' that makes the journey instructive.

Well, it would be *if* you were born in the afternoon, but still Virgo at
your birth time.

Your natal Moon is conjunct Saturn, you will seek difficulties at work
should anyone try to deprive you of that secretly treasured and personally
developmental experience..:)

Yeah, I find that people in CA talk and walk too slowly...must be the
heat...:) But a Libra Moon would not seek to feel that there was one "right
on" answer; the Libra feeling tone/trait is like Senator Lott speaking out
of both sides of his mouth for as long as he get away with it...and always
testing the limits of that dubious but self pleasing trait. The Libra
'energy' (whatever) has no other way of finding out what trait is supposed
to *immitated*, so as to appear to be "right on". Something it can never
actually feel to its own satifaction.

Don't feel bad, I've been looking at this stuff since 1970 and I don't
see how anyone can address one astrological planet without seeing it in the
context of all the others...its a very messy business...:) But that sounds
like it might appeal to your Virgo Moon which is conjunct Saturn and square
Neptune. Ah, the delicious self satifaction of obstructing, frustrating,
messy, fuzzy, details...:)

Being that you have Uranus on your Ascendant--close to the rising degree

of your chart, you'll find the art of astrology as quirky as you need it to
be...:)

The mild sense of internal conflict comes from fact that you actually
have Mars and Jupiter spurring you to write much more expansively, to write
a great deal more than you did. However, you wrote just enough to feel
"sorry"...that satisfies that Virgo Moon (conjunct Saturn) your are asking
about,....that's how it 'works' so to speak...:)

Good Luck,
