Does Sun conjunct Pluto *always* indicate a difficult relationship or a
relationship where the Sun person will eventually be "burned" by the Pluto
person?

One astrological reference book that I have says this is a painful aspect.

All comments appreciated. Thanks!

I know a lot of people who have their Pluto conj. my sun, and also
have been asked about this one in several synastry charts, so I have
been trying to do some research. What I have seen so far, and what
some excellent astrologers have also shared with me, is that it can
indicate strong feelings but that it doesn't always have to be a
disaster.

I have read where some interpret this as the Pluto person wanting to
control the Sun person and the Sun person resenting it if the aspect
is not carefully handled.

Since I seem to know an unusual amount of people who have this aspect
in their relationships, I will be really interested to see what others
have to say.

Hi Margo:-) to be frank I stay away from "always" with anything
including planetary setups. Too many possible variations. However
to me synastry is as if when you are with this person the resultant
effect is as if this "third" person (the two of you together) in your
example were born with a sun/pluto conjunction. Yes I believe
there is potential for pain but also unbelievable depths and major
transformations. To some Pluto is a scary planet. I view Pluto as
a powerful force for change that ultimately improves any situation.
However because the change can be painful, Pluto gets a bad rap.
It's really how you look at things. I always have said, if you can handle
the heat of Pluto, you don't get burned <smile> Look at it this way...
it won't be boring!

Heather :-)

Thanks, Heather and Pam, for your insights into Sun/Pluto conjunctions! I will
pass them along to the party concerned!
