It's true that the Ascendant represents the physical body and one's
physical health, and that Solar eclipses represent endings and
beginnings. But from what I've read, eclipses don't usually portend
death unless you're a king! ;)

So I wouldn't worry about the eclipse being so close your Ascendant,
right in the middle of your close Mercury-Neptune conjunction. To me,
it looks more like your thinking, and your dreams, aspirations, and
inspirations, will be in the spotlight.

Rita (I presume)

In your lifetime so far...

You have lived through 4 solar eclipses and 4 lunar eclipses within 5
degrees conjunction of your ascendant. (total=8 eclipses)

If we include the ascendant/descendant axis then you have lived through
8 solar eclipses and 9 lunar eclipses within 5 degees. (total = 17
eclipses)

Furthermore the following eclipses occured less than 1 degree of your
asc/dsc axis!!!

8 Mar 1950 10' (arcmin)
20 Sep 1960 20'
18 Mar 1969 13'
18 Mar 1988 4' <---- the closest of all!!!

...and you and your hubby are still alive and kicking :)

As for the upcoming eclipses you have 7 eclipses through to 2030 all within
3 degrees of asc/dsc. *None of them* are as tight orb as the above four
that you've already lived through. So I'd say by now you'd developed some
eclipse imunity ;)

Rita,

The only thing I'd add to what Martin said is that you are older and
thus more vulnerable each time but is it enough to affect anything? I've
always thought that eclipses mark areas which may or may not be
stimulated in the requisite time for something of any note to occur. Not
even sure what these delicate periods are or what planets are most
likely to trigger things though it is hard to overlook mars, maybe
saturn as choices.
