Hi all,

Having banged-on about the 8th harmonic and waxed inspirational
(ahemm) on the 7th harmonic, I thought I'd throw in some ideas
about the 5th harmonic. And if you don't behave I'd be happy to
talk about the 9th harmonic later. :-)

Harmonic 5 is derived from the quintile aspect - 72 degrees and
it's multiple, 144.
All the sources I've looked at agree that this harmonic has to do
with the application of any knowledge or skill. John Addey said
it showed us "our place in the order of art". I think he meant
art in it's broadest sense as in anything that we consciously
create, be it a piece of music, a poem, a building or a
personality.
In "Harmonic Charts", David Hamblin relates fiveness to the idea
of 'making, arranging, building, constructing, structuring,
forming'. and 'the creation of order out of chaos'
Terry Dwyer relates it to an individual's 'deliberate style of
behaviour' and 'conscious strategy'

I feel strongly that fiveness, and the 5th harmonic chart, tell
us a great deal about all these themes.
Five is the number of power and human consciousness. The mind is
the instrument that creates form out of chaos, and therefore
exerts power over that chaos. The 5th harmonic chart shows the
manner
in which we put our mind to use; how we 'make, arrange, build,
construct and form' - not just in the outer world, but our own
behaviour and language as well. Therefore it *is* to do with our
conscious strategy and deliberate behaviour patterns, but should
there be many cross aspects in this harmonic chart, the forging
of such behaviour patterns may become an end in itself, to the
point of obsessive/compulsive mannerisms.
Our innate skills and talents can be shown here; what we *know
about*.
Trines and sextiles in this HC show talent and style expressed
with facility and delight; oppositions show us working to
develop a style. Squares show a deeper level of 'the struggle to
manifest' our conscious strategy.
Below I've set out my ideas on how the different planets express
themselves in this harmonic.

SUN: A creative, self-involved, radiant style.
MOON: A protective, responsive, sympathetic, nurturing
style.
MERCURY: A rational, articulate, intellectual, theory-making
style.
VENUS: A stylised attractiveness. Sensual, harmony-loving
style. A love of beautiful structures.
MARS: Assertive, forceful, energetic style. Stylised
masculinity and dynamism.
JUPITER: Grand and impressive style. Uninhibited, free,
adventurous, noble.
SATURN: Self-limiting and self-disciplined style.
Conservative, highly structured behaviour.
URANUS: A striking, original, shocking, rebellious,
eccentric and unique style.
NEPTUNE: An idealistic, imaginative, poetic, universal,
selfless style.
PLUTO: A regenerative, single-minded, relentless,
uncompromising style.
CHIRON: Expressing 'healing structures'; or a wounded,
vulnerable and painful style.

Again, these are just my ideas, but the thing to remember is that
in the 5th harmonic we express each planet in a highly structured
manner. We seek to create with it. We become *known* for it,
especially if it is close to an angle or closely aspecting the
Sun or Moon in the 5HC.

I thank you :-)

I'm laughing right now because I never studied harmonic charts Pete
and I just yanked all of mine off Astrodiensts website... now what to do
with
them all? LOL My 10th Harmonic Chart is a doozie so I hope you
get to the 10th soon... <g> But the 5th is very important to me
considering where I am right now and what I'm thinking of doing
with my life. What I don't get is the planets in different signs
from my natal ones so How do I interpret all this. I know natal
and predictive astrology like the back of my hand but I have never done
harmonics..... waaaaaaaaaah! LOL. So after reading your notes here...
I'll lay this 5th Harmonic chart on you...Uranus/Neptune/north node exactly
conjunct
at 15 Aries in the 1st trine a moon/venus conj. in Sag in 9th which in turn
is opp the Sun and Pluto (snicker) in Gemini in the 3rd. Mercury is in Leo
in 5th sextile Jup in Taurus in 2nd. mars in Scorpio (8th)widely opposes(4
degrees) Jup in
2nd. whewwwwwwwww any ideas.... ??? <BG> what am I suppose to do?
write steamy hot romance novels? hahahahahahaha <wink> My digital art has to
be
in there somewhere! <pout>

Hugs!

Heather

PS my 4th Harmonic chart is scary looking ....sheesh! :-(

Whoa! Ok, ok, ok...slow *down*! LOL
First off H, the 10th harmonic is a sub-set of the 5th.
Oppositions in the 5HC become conjunctions in the 10th. (2x5);
trines in 5HC become conjunctions in the 15th (3x5) and so on,
geddit? However the harmonic in which your Sun and Moon conjoin
is important as this then shows what "type" you are. You are a
"10th harmonic type",and since the 10th harmonic is all about
'working to integrate (opposition) structured patterns of
behaviour and skill (H5), then this is the type of person that
you are, and 'what you are known for' (H5)
With me so far? :-)

Next, don't look at sign positions, or house positions in the 5th
harmonic. These planets are the same ones as in the radix, or
root, chart. Their signs and houses THERE are what matters, just
like always. It's the ASPECTS in the 5th harmonic that are
important, and keep your orbs tight.
I use ' harmonic orbs': 12 degs for a conjunction; 6 for the
opposition; 4 for a trine; 3 for a square; 2 for a sextile; 1.5
for the sesquares; 1 for the quincunx.

Now, looking at your H5, we get this:
SU-0-PL (this is carried over from the natal) opposition MO-VE.
The Moon/Venus shows that you are particularly responsive to
beautiful structures and seek to create them, both in your
conscious behaviour and in the artefacts you produce. Mozart had
this in his 5th harmonic. It also produces a very sensual,
feminine, artistic and
charming streak, and a love of beauty and symmetry.
But here it is opposed by your SO-0-PL. You are known for the
struggle between male and female: the need to integrate all of
the above with the tough, single-minded ruthless side of
yourself. "The iron-fist in the velvet glove"(Or the gorilla in a
pink bikini! HA!)
This combination is conjunct the Asc/Desc, so it will be
something that is very visible in your outward behaviour and how
you interact with others.
MO/VE is also tied to UR/NE: Here is your delight in making a
striking, original, even shocking response; your love of
originality and uniqueness in art. It pulls you constantly
towards emotional independence and autocracy. Not just for
yourself, either, but for ALL women.
Neptune's contribution adds an idealistic and very romantic
streak. It also shows a delight in imagery and fantasy. Here's
your digital artwork, Heather. Also, Venus rules your 8th and
Neptune is on the cusp of the 2nd natally, so this is where you
can make your money. It also shows an intuitive grasp of the
markets.
Uranus and Neptune together show that you wish to make a highly
individual contribution to the cause of humanity and that you
will do this through your aesthetic talents, but NOT writing.
Mercury is weakly integrated at this level, although JO=ME/MA
here makes you a grand, impressive and feisty communicator!
You'd make a good attorney, Heather!
Last but not least, there's MA-0-CHI, both opposite JO.
This to me shows an awareness of the suffering and pain that
aggression can cause, and the desire to build some kind of "grand
healing structure" Mars/Jupiter can be *very* physical at this
level, and expand the desire nature considerably. (oo-er!)

How does all that sound? That you, Heather?

aaaaaaaahahahahaha You just described me to the "T"
my man! Do you know you're the first person
to do that?! :-)every single sentence in your analysis
is absolutely correct about me... unbelievable!
geeeeeez you even made that attorney
comment... yes I wanted to be an attorney early on
in my life... should have.... <wink> But in order
to have done it I feel I would have had natal planets
in the 7th and/or 9th. Just a thought.... Besides..LOL
you know me....I would have been just as busy
busting the dishonest fellow attorneys as the criminals...
hahahahahahaha .

Art is where I'm at now and boy am I at a weird
point in my road...thanks for this though...
it helps me to make up my mind about some
things <g> I have TR. Saturn opposing my
Neptune right now and well ahemmmmm you
know what that can do....as soon as it's off
my butt I'll be off and running! :-)irrational fears be gone!
<snicker>

After
all these years I love learning new things! Thanks
for enlightening me... geeeeeeeeez you're good!
hmmmm I better run for cover...you know me too
well <wink>

Hugs!

Pete, while you are on a roll... <g>

I'm not sure I get this one at all. My 5th has lots of trines AND its
the chart where my sun and moon are the closest. AND as it happens, I'm
working on changing what I'll want to be when I grow up. I'm very
interested in any insights here.
