To All,

I have the sad duty to report to all interested people here the recent
death of Dr. Vincent P. Guinn, a much-revered figure in the world of neutron
activation analysis. Dr. Guinn is perhaps best known here for his seminal
work in analyzing and interpreting the elemental composition of the lead
fragments from the JFK assassination, but his experience with NAA went far
beyond that. Here is a biography sent around to some of us by a branch of
the International Atomic Energy Agency in Vienna, edited slightly for
privacy.

****************

VINCENT P. GUINN, 1917-2002

The activation analysis community, particularly its older members--many of
whom knew him
personally--will be greatly saddened by the news of the death of Professor
Vincent P. Guinn ("Vince" to all his many friends) on 7 November 2002 just
two days short of his 85th birthday. The memorial service and interment took
place in Clarksville, Maryland on 10 November 2002.

Besides being an outstanding scientist and devoted educator, Vince was a
dear friend to many and a loving and considerate husband and father. He will
be sorely missed by his family, friends and many colleagues around the
world. Those wishing to do so may express their condolences to his widow,
Maria Gavrilas-Guinn.

Vince may truly be described as one of the founding fathers of activation
analysis. He was thoroughly passionate about both his profession and
education. Often he expressed a desire to motivate young researchers in his
fields of analytical radiochemistry and forensics. To honor Vince's wishes,
a memorial fund has been established: Vincent P. Guinn Memorial Fund,
American Nuclear Society, Attn: Mr. Christian Krapp, 555 North Kensington
Avenue, La Grange Park, IL 60526, USA. The fund will be used to assist
students pursuing research in these areas.

Yes, indeed, thank you for sharing this information. Dr. Guinn was an
absolute pioneer in many aspects of neutron activation analysis, including
the forensic use of this powerful tool. His was a life that counted.

True indeed. In life he must have been greatly saddened to learn that the
results of his initial free offering of the application of his new science
had been suppresssed and defended as "Secret" by the Justice Dep't all the
way to the Supreme Court. It took Harold Weisberg and his Counsel Jim Lesar
over 13 years to get some of the suppressed results released.Perhaps all
should read Weisberg's chapter 30 in his book, 'Post-Mortem'entitled the
"New Science".I do recall that Dr. Guinn said later,(for the HSCA as I
recall), "I have no control over such things".

I just heard the news. I'm about 13 years behind the times, I know.

Dr. Guinn was my first college professor. His dedication to teaching
undergrads was deserving of his reputation. I will forever look back on
my time in his class fondly. His loss will be felt all who study
chemistry.

Did you hear that President Kennedy was killed on November 22, 1963?

Exactly.
But I hate to be the one to break the bad news to you, but NAA is also
dead. RIP.

What the Hell are you doing using your real name on a GMAIL account?
I can appreciate that Ken dearly loved Vince. I have no problem with
that. But he seems to not be able to separate personal feelings from
scientific reality. Guinn was important, but flawed. His NAA was bogus
science as applied to the JFK assassination. I'm afraid that Ken still
believes in it.

On a more personal note, do you know who found and gave Ken all the NAA
data from Guinn's work when he couldn't find it?

Have you ever actually read all of Ken's articles about the NAA? I don't
know how many of them are still online.

Don't worry, Kevin, that's just Anthony showing his charm and welcoming
you, he can't help it and yet he complains about others scaring people
away from here, go figure.

Also, Anthony studied Latin when he was three years old, drove the
presidential limosine and got it stuck in the mud, and has contacts in the
CIA because his father was a TOP SECRET AGENT!

Anthony knows something about everything, and he will be the first to tell
you that you know nothing about anything.

He responds to every post he reads because he believes that it is duty to
correct the errors of all the ignorant people, whom he refers to as
"Nazis," that post here, which means everyone, even those who agree him.

I didn't try to scare anybody. I help people here, even giving them
consumer advice or telling the Nazis when their favorite shows will be
on some obscure TV channel.

What is a TOP SECRET agent? My father was a Section Chief. Isn't that
high enough up for you? Why do you make up phony stories about me? I
said I had 4 years of Latin in High School. I studied French in private
school before High School.
I wasn't driving the Beast when it got stuck in the driveway. I
emphatically deny that charge.

I am the first to admit what I don't know.

If I see others respond to something accurately then I don't have to.
When I see people lie I call them out. That's why I have to post so much
here. Too many lies, not enough time.

No you didn't warn him of anything, just how confused are you?

Can't you see how unnecessary and offensive parts of your reply to Kevin
were?

Again, you're the only one here scaring away newbies and others with your
ridiculous wannabe macho posturing.
