A 6th grader of our acquaintance was required to do a little paper on JFK.
She got the basics correct (date of birth, military, schools, marriage)
etc. but somehow, some way, bollixed the shooting sequence. According to
this youngster, "He was shot in the thigh by an indian."

That's one I haven't heard.

Joel,

I think that Dave Reitzes has a computer program that could be used to
simulate that explanation--he uses it for everything else!

Ironical indeed. JFK was scalped by a white man.

It also apparently lets him predict that a paper will be "landmark" before
actually reading it and without the necessary subsequent efforts to understand
it. Truly a great program.

Btw, Ken, I offered you the simulation at Lancer. Instead you asked for a copy
of my speech. You know the one with giant green slash marks through the lead
paragraph that I never presented on stage and that you, nonetheless,
selectively quoted in your "rendition" of what happened at Lancer. It
included things like compliments to you and the fact that I encouraged Debra C.
to invite you (again I didn't say it on stage)-- those were the parts you left
out. Do you still have it? Do you have the guts to scan it in so everyone
can see the level you went to misrepresent things?

Reminds me of the old joke along the lines of: I came home and told my wife
that, at work, they had introduced a machine that does everything I do, but
better.

She went out and bought one.

Would that be "Big Chief" Curry? Another suspect...

I still haven't figured out how the youngster got the "indian" thing.

I don't argue much about the case but I think I am going to offer my blowhard
opinion on the Fetzer thing.

That's kinda funny ... there's a group of people, whi shall remain
nameless, who actually refer to him as "the bigowhard." Really!

Does this Big Chief Curry own a Husky? Is there a
younger, groovier Son of Big Chief waiting in the wings?

MST, making ever more obscure references.

And here I thought the "Indian" thing with Chief Curry was because people
from India eat a lot of curry. :-)
