In 2003, while viewing a compilation tape of the RFK assassination, I
noticed a three-second scene with a lady in a polka dot dress and a
man at the Ambassador Hotel. I've snapped a photo of the scene on the
VHS with my digital camera and uploaded it to my website.

I've mentioned this scene a number of times on the newsgroup.

Does anyone know the name of this woman?

Ya, well if I knew her name I'd tell ya.

I swear I wouldn't keep it secret!

There is another lady with a "polka dot skirt" in the ballroom btw.

But she is nowhere near the pantry area, and seems a hell of a lot
more upset than the quiet lowkey polka dot lady in the pantry area.

The only piece of clothing I ever owned with polka dots was a brown
tie with yellowy beige polka dots. I find it hard to believe I
actually wore it.

I hope I never wore it with my Tweed jacket.

Someone has suggested this woman is Valerie Schulte:

http://www.toronto.hm/polkadotlady.html

Ms. Schulte testified at Sirhan Sirhan's trial on Feb 18, 1969. Here
is a summary of a newscast on CBS of events in the court room that
day:

CBS Evening News for
Tuesday, Feb 18, 1969

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Headline: Sirhan Trial / Shooting
Abstract: (Studio) Mysterious girl in polka-dot dress testifies in
trial of Sirhan Sirhan, accused of killing Senator Robert F. Kennedy.

REPORTER: Walter Cronkite

(Los Angeles, California) Valerie Schulte testifies she hadn't ever
seen Sirhan before shooting. Says she couldn't identify him then or
now. Court room cleared due to suspicious noise in desk; turned out to
be telephone repair work. Kennedy's body-guard, Bill Barry, told of
being separated from Kennedy when he decided to ignore cleared path
and walk into kitchen. After shooting, Barry slapped Sirhan. Barry
points him out in court. Olympic champion Rafer Johnson tells of
taking gun away from Sirhan. [JOHNSON - felt that night that Sirhan
was helpless and why should we do things to him like he'd just done.
Feels same way.]
REPORTER: Bill Stout Artist: Howard Brodie

>I swear I wouldn't keep it secret!

I always keep my word. It could be Valerie. She's kinda cute. One
online source describes her as a "kennedy groupie". Valerie was
apparently using crutches on the night RFK was shot. The crutches do
not appear to be visible in the screen shot uploaded to my website.

No, I don't believe her crutch was a secret weapon!

A copy of the entire newscast is available for $100.00

Just the Sirhan Sirhan trial segment (2.20 seconds) costs
$37.00...unless you are Walter Cronkite.

Then it's free!

Remove the '1' at the end of 'polkadotlady1' and the link then works.

I'd rather folks use the http://www.toronto.hm/polkadotlady.html url

Anyways, last I knew, Valerie was an attorney for the National
Association of Broadcasters in Washington.

Maybe I'll send her a copy, and see if she can ID herself.

Gerry,

From what I understand, there were 6 women at the Ambassador Hotel
wearing polka dot clothing of some sort or other, according to
detectives.
