What happened to the video and/or film recordings of the press
conference where Dr. Perry indicated that the throat wound gave the
appearance of a bullet coming at him? If someone could direct me to
some research, it would be appreciated! Thanks!

The videos apparently haven't survived, but the transcript is LBJ White
House transcript #1.

Any surviving films are unknown. There are a few still pictures. A
transcipt of the press conference is available, and you can find it
here:

Thanks for posting the link.

When I saw the conference on TV my reaction to the speculation of a
Parkland doctor that a bullet entered the neck and exited the head evoked
thoughts of a large hole in the rear. I do not remember whether this
speculation coincided with a doctor covering the rear of his head to
indicate the location of the wound. Considering the contents of our
current debates I now understand why the video tapes have vanished.

Barb, from where did Kathleen Cunningham get the transcript? Did she
perform the actual transcription? Since a detailed and apparently
verbatim transcript survives, then a recording must have existed for a
period of time after the news conference. Of course this raises my
suspicion regarding loss or destruction of such a piece of recorded
history, especially one that implicates an entry wound in the front of
the throat.

Respectfully,
~Mark
