THREE SHOTS WERE FIRED

11/22/2013: 50 years after the JFK assassination
http://threeshotswerefired.com/?p=1383
11/22/2013 BY PERRY VERMEULEN, STAN BOS AND MIKE BOESCHOTEN

November 22, 2013. The assassination of John F. Kennedy was exactly 50
years ago. What happened in Kennedy’s final hours? This is a
liveblog on the events, from his departure in Fort Worth until the take
off of Air Force One 3,5 hours later – now with a new President.

by Perry Vermeulen, Stan Bos and Mike Boeschoten

Timeline of the assassination of John F. Kennedy

12:17 PM A young man described as wearing green Army fatigues suddenly
collapses at 100 N. Houston, near the front door of the Texas School Book
Depository. He apparently is suffering some sort of seizure. An ambulance
is called at 12:19 P.M. to take him to Parkland Hospital.

Could this be Gordon Arnold?

No. That guy was taken to the hospital so he could not have been
standing on the grassy knoll when the shots were fired.

I'm guessing you are joking or trolling. This is the very well-known
ambulance incident.

I did not realize the guy who had the seizure had been found. Evidently Posner is the one who tracked down and identified this witness.

The JFK 100

The Epileptic in Dealey Plaza
Unfortunate epileptic or diabolical conspirator?

Oliver Stone's JFK kicks off its reconstruction of the assassination with
New Orleans District Attorney Jim Garrison (Kevin Costner) asking:

So what really happened that day? Let's just for a moment speculate, shall
we? We have the epileptic seizure around 12:15 PM . . . distracting the
police, making it easier for the shooters to move into their places. The
epileptic later vanished, never checking into the hospital.(1)

But the individual in question hardly "vanished"; his name was Jerry
Belknap, an epileptic who had suffered seizures since childhood. He was
located by the FBI on May 26, 1964, and to prove his identity, he produced
his receipt for the $12.50 he paid for his ambulance ride to Parkland
Hospital. He explained that he had left Parkland without registering
because he felt better after being given a glass of water and an aspirin.
Moments later, the President's motorcade pulled into the hospital's
parking lot, and Belknap realized he was not likely to see a doctor
anytime soon anyway.(2)

Oliver Stone's Dealey Plaza scenario, it would seem, is off to an
unfortunate start.

Yes, Posner solved that mystery. Ironic Belknap was wearing Army green
and supposedly so was GArnold. No witness ever mentioned seeing a guy in
Army green anywhere around the GK. GArnold is a phony wannabe witness.

both the TSBD and the grassy knoll at the same time. How quickly did the

You're right. No proof whatsoever GArnold was even in Dealey Plaza that
day. Of all the witnesses in this city park not one mentions seeing a guy
wearing an Army green uniform, except Belknap who was rushed to a hospital
before the parade. Sam Holland and his group rushed down into the parking
area after the shooting stopped and none of those witnesses saw a guy in
Army uniform or a police car, which is a big part of the Rishel story.

False! They did not "rush down to the parking area", there was a bit
of a pause, but even so, if they had rushed down, they would have missed
Arnold, who apparently got up and moved out quickly. The big part of the
Walter Rischel "story" was that Lee Bowers saw at least 2 men behind the
fence with rifle shooting at the motorcade. Thy then got into a car and
drove off.

Gordon Arnold was legitimate as a witness. He was also one of the
witnesses that reported his experience late, for fear that being involved
could get unhealthy. He didn't write a book, and answered questions only
to those that asked, and he didn't try to get on TV every week thereafter.

You'll just have to accept the witnesses that say there were shooters
behind the fence.

Do you have proof of that? PD Smith was in a big hurry to search the
parking lot. It is possible in his haste he glanced at the ID and
realized it was a Federal ID and assumed he was SSA. He would be more
likely to assume SSA than 112th Military Intel Group 4th Army. In any
event there was a Deputy Sheriff standing next to him and this Federal
Agent had no visible weapon.

Lose the ability again to talk to me face to face so to speak? C'mon,
get up your courage. Bowers said he saw them there, many who heard shots
from that area said someone was there, many on the overpass saw smoke
coming from that area, and thought someone was there, Gordon Arnold
thought so too. A cop rode his motorcycle up there because he saw
everyone looking in that direction.

No cop rode a motorcycle up the grassy slope.

Interestingly, several witnesses *said* a cop did that.

But the photographic evidence trumps.

Haygood tried to jump the curb, but failed. He parked his motor in
the street and ran up the slope.

The myth of Badgeman
http://www.jfkmurdersolved.com/badgeman.htm

Conclusion 1: Although Gordon Arnold's story appeared very compelling,
there is no photographic evidence whatsoever that he was where he said he
was. Moreover, his story that the policeman kicked and threathened him and
took his film, should have been seen by at least some of the witnesses.
This should at least have taken 15 seconds at a time that virtually
everybody was looking at the knoll or running towards it. Therefore I
dismiss Arnold's story completely.

Conclusion 2: Badgeman is non existent, nothing more than a diehard myth.

Not east of the underpass. He maybe be thinking of Hargis who went through
the underpass then tried to go up the grass. Or Haygood, who parked his
cycle on Elm near the grassy knoll and then ran up. Unfortunately in
English sometimes the wording gets the object and the actor mixed up.

He was identified a year later as Jerry Belknap, he never registered At
Parkland as by the time he had come to needing to JFK was on his way
through the door. He made his excuses and left due to thinking he
wouldn’t be seen anytime soon anyway as all the doctors would be
tied up with JFK and Gov. Connally. My thoughts if he was part of he plot
would have been a distraction tactic to make it easier for any of the
shooters to slip into position, some shooters had been in place far
earlier (chicken bones found and soft drinks in relevant areas) it also
took an ambulance out of town lowering the chance of medical attention on
the spot if that became a factor which it didn’t.

I've always tended to be on the fence about Arnold's story and at present,
I tend not to believe it. There is one glitch though. Sen. Ralph
Yarborough once stated in an interview that he saw a man in an army
uniform dive to the ground near a fence. He was very specific about this
in the interview (seen on the now censored TMWKK television series). I
understand he later retracted this statement.

His earlier statement (made before the TMWKK was produced) was that he saw
"people fall onto the ground on the embankment to our right". People,
plural. Nothing about a man in uniform. He also stated that all of the
shots he heard sounded like they came from behind him.

Yarborough (1964 affidavit): "I heard three shots and no more. All seemed
to come from my right rear. I saw people fall to the ground on the
embankment to our right, at about the time of or after the second shot,
but before the cavalcade started up and raced away."

So if he said this in the TMWKK it came *after* his earlier statements
where he didnt' mention this.

We have photos and films of that area during the shooting. Moorman photo,
Nix film et cetera. And eyewitness accounts. None of the photos/films, to
my eyes, show a man in uniform around there or falling to the ground
around the GK. The Nix film does show Newman throwing himself to the
ground. And other films show his wife and children there. No eyewitness,
to my knowledge, mentions a man in uniform before, during or after the
shooting.

Where is the TMWKK series censored? I've seen it on youtube.

You mean like all the hundreds of witnesses who testified to seeing BDM?

Point of Order. I never heard him claim that it was Badgeman.
What would Badgeman do with his rifle while going around to beat up
a witness? Why not also steal Zapruder's camera?

That is NOT what Yarborough said. Nothing about a uniform.

The following affidavit was executed by Ralph W. Yarborough on July 10,
1964.

PRESIDENT'S COMMISSION
ON THE ASSASSINATION OF
PRESIDENT JOHN F. KENNEDY

AFFIDAVIT

DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA, ss:

In response to the oral request of one of the attorneys for the Commission that I send you an affidavit for inclusion in the record of the assassination of President John F. Kennedy, I make the following statement:
On November 22, 1963, as the President and Mrs. Kennedy rode through the streets of Dallas, I was in the second car behind them. The first car behind the Presidential car was the Secret Service car; the second car behind them was Vice-President Lyndon Johnson's car. The driver and a secret service agent were on the front seat of the Vice-President's car. Vice-President Lyndon B. Johnson sat on the right side of the rear seat of the automobile, Mrs. Lyndon B. Johnson was in the center of the rear seat, while I sat on the left side of the rear seat. After the Presidential motorcade had passed through the heart of downtown Dallas, experiencing an exceptionally warm and friendly greeting, as the motorcade went down the slope of Elm Street toward the railroad underpass, a rifle shot was heard by me; a loud blast, close by. I have handled firearms for fifty year, and thought immediately that it was a rifle shot. When the noise of the shot was heard, the motorcade slowed to what seemed to me a complete stop (though it could have been a near stop). After what I took to be about three seconds, another shot boomed out, and after what I took to be one-half the time between the first and second shots (calculated now, this would have put the third shot about one and one-half seconds after the second shot--by my estimate--to me there seemed to be a long time between the first and second shots, a much shorter time between the second and third shots--these were my impressions that day), a third shot was fired. After the third shot was fired, but only after the third shot was fired, the cavalcade speeded up, gained speed rapidly, and roared away to the Parkland Hospital.

I heard three shots and no more. All seemed to come from my right rear. I saw people fall to the ground on the embankment to our right, at about the time of or after the second shot, but before the cavalcade started up and raced away.

Due to the second car, with the secret service men standing on steps on the sides of it, I could not see what was happening in the Presidential car during the shooting itself. Some of the secret service men looked backward and to the right, in the general direction from which the rifle explosions seemed to come.

After the shooting, one of the secret service men sitting down in the car in front of us pulled out an automatic rifle or weapon and looked backward. However, all of the secret service men seemed to me to respond very slowly, with no more than a puzzled look. In fact, until the automatic weapon was uncovered, I had been lulled into a sense of false hope for the President's safety, by the lack of motion, excitement, or apparent visible knowledge by the secret service men, that anything so dreadful was happening. Knowing something of the training that combat infantrymen and Marines receive, I am amazed at the lack of instantaneous response by the Secret Service, when the rifle fire began. I make this statement in this paragraph reluctantly, not to add to the anguish of anyone, but it is my firm opinion, and I write it out in the hope that it might be of service in the better protection of our Presidents in the future.

After we went under the underpass, on the upward slope I could see over the heads of the occupants of the second car (Secret Service car) and could see an agent lying across the back or trunk of the Presidential car, with his feet to the right side of the car, his head at the left side. He beat the back of the car with one hand, his face contorted by grief, anguish, and despair, and I knew from that instant that some terrible loss had been suffered.

On arrival at the hospital, I told newsmen that three rifle shots had been fired. There was then no doubt in my mind that the shots were rifle shots, and I had neither then or now any doubts that any other shots were fired. In my opinion only three shots were fired.

The attached photograph from pages 24 and 25 of the Saturday Evening Post of December 14, 1963, shows the motorcade, as I remember it, an instant after the first shot. [Photograph is Yarborough Exhibit A.]

Given and sworn to this 10th day of July, 1964, at Washington, District of Columbia.
Signed this 10th day of July 1964.
(S) Ralph W. Yarborough,
RALPH W. YARBOROUGH.

McAdams summed it up pretty well in his article:

Eyewitness corroboration for Arnold’s story?

Despite the dearth of evidence, there is one eyewitness who has been alleged to confirm Gordon Arnold’s presence in Dealey Plaza.
Faces in Odd Places

If one looks at enough photographs, faces can turn up in all kinds of strange places. Consider, for example, this photo of the World Trade Center towers in the wake of the 9/11 terrorist attacks. Some see the face of Satan, perhaps gloating over the evil he has caused.

Then there is this famous photo of the "face on Mars," photographed by NASA's Viking Orbiter in 1976. How did it get there? Does it show intelligent life, perhaps trying to communicate with other races from other planets?

As it happens a probe in 2001 obtained a much higher resolution photo of the same area, and the "face" is shown to be a rather ordinary geological structure.

It's not possible, unfortunately, to go back to Dealey Plaza and rephotograph "Badgeman." If he was ever there, he's now long gone.

As noted previously, Arnold’s story was first publicized in a Dallas Morning News story of August 27, 1978. A follow-up story of Sunday, December 31, 1978, again authored by Earl Golz, noted, “Some assassination researchers said they doubted Arnold’s story because they could not find him in photographs and movie film taken at the time of the assassination.” Endnote

However, Golz wrote, Arnold’s “presence on the grassy knoll was confirmed Saturday by former U.S. Sen. Ralph Yarborough of Texas, who was riding in the motorcade two cars behind the presidential limousine. He was a passenger in a car with Vice President Lyndon Johnson and Mrs. Johnson.” Endnote

“Immediately on the firing of the first shot I saw the man you interviewed throw himself on the ground,” Yarborough told The News. “He was down within a second of the time the shot was fired and I thought to myself, ‘There’s a combat veteran who knows how to act when weapons start firing.’” Endnote

Yarborough elaborated slightly upon his statement ten years later, in The Men Who Killed Kennedy:

During that shooting my eye was attracted to the right. I saw a movement and I saw a man just jump about ten feet like at the old time flying tackle in football and land against a wall. I thought to myself, “There’s an infantryman who’s either been shot at in combat or he’s been trained thoroughly: the minute you hear firing, get under cover.”

Yarborough saw someone “jump about ten feet like at the old time flying tackle in football and land against a wall;” Gordon Arnold said he “hit the dirt” Endnote behind the concrete wall.

Gordon Arnold said he was in uniform that day; Endnote Yarborough surmised that the bystander he saw was an infantryman or combat veteran, because he appeared to know “how to act when weapons start firing.”

Was Yarborough describing Gordon Arnold, or someone else entirely?

In 1993 Ralph W. Yarborough was interviewed at his Austin home by historian David Murph of Texas Christian University. Murph reminded Yarborough that he had been quoted as saying he had witnessed a man on the grassy knoll throw himself down on the ground, and that the man had impressed him as a combat veteran.

Yarborough seemed puzzled to hear that his words had been applied to someone standing on the grassy knoll. That couldn’t possibly be correct, he insisted repeatedly. “Remember where I was in the motorcade — with the Johnsons,” he cautioned Murph, “too far back to have been able to see anyone [on the knoll] drop to the ground when firing began.” Endnote

Whoever Yarborough had described (and there were many people in Dealey Plaza throwing themselves down on the ground as the shots rang out), Endnote it could not have been Gordon Arnold.

What really happened on the knoll during the assassination? Does any evidence corroborate Gordon Arnold’s claims about what occurred during and after the shooting?

I think it is more likely that he saw Charles Hester diving for cover in
