here is a list what i consider possibilities (however unlikely each
may be):
1. the guy who wrote the score for gump ripped off this song from
john woo's movie
2. for some strange reason the company that released this movie on
DVD in asia stuck the forrest gump theme in... (the DVD i saw was an
import from asia released earlier this year, i believe)...
3. i've lost my mind completely
is it possible that the forrest gump theme was lifted from this john
woo film? is there some strange copyright loop-hole?
has anyone else noticed this?? i was listening to the 'cantonese'
(sp?) audio track because that's what the movie seemed to have been
originally filmed in (i hate english dubbed movies, and the 'mandrain'
(sp?) chinese seemed also to be dubbed... since their mouths didn't
fit the audio).....
this is very strange to me.... and, no, it is not an attempt to start
a big conspiracy... i'm just curious if anyone else has noticed
this... or knows the story behind it...

Number 2 would be the right answer. It was a disgrace and now there's another
release with the right music.

For most HK movies, even the Cantonese is dubbed. They do a pretty good job of
trying to match the mouths with the speech as close as possible.

I actually found mine at a Suncoast. Just be sure to look for the
blue round sticker that says "100% Original Music" in the upper right
hand corner.
